GUILTY CT - Jennifer Dulos, 50, deceased/not found, New Canaan, 24 May 2019 *ARRESTS* #71

“When a prosecution that serious against Mawhinney or Troconis, I don’t care who it is, that moment you should never ever turn around and say, you can’t undo what you’ve done,” Crosland said Wednesday.

What the hell does this even mean-what’s he talking about? Is this guy going to be handling Michi’s appeal?

Will he just scare the prosecution with his race-baiting intimidation, that he is famous for? Does he even know that Michi isn’t a “woman of color”?

I am glad that Jennifer’s family has a champion in Carrie Luft-but I don’t think the State of CT cares a whit about Jennifer and her family…they’re done with this case. It will not surprise me when MT’s appeal is successful, because in spite of Paul Ferencek’s words, I don’t think they are putting any energy and time at all into fighting MT’s appeal attempt.

I like to think at Least one juror found out that she displayed that report in court during the trial, and if they had been sitting on the fence, MT's shocking behavior persuaded them to vote guilty.
I’m pretty sure that more than one found out about it before their deliberation. They do tell you not to talk about or read anything related to the case while you’re on the jury, but the fact is that they do sometimes. It’s human nature, and the court really cannot stop it, as long as a juror doesn’t admit to doing it. I do hope that the jurors saw her and her family as they truly are.

I spoke to the town of New Canaan worker this week who had specific recollections on the fateful morning of Fotis Dulos' vehicle idling, the two vehicles including the Chevy Suburban owned by Jennifer with the alarms going off as Fotis was trying to access the vehicle as it was not his car, hence the car alarms going off and needing to be turned off by him. The town worker did not know he had been quoted in this book: https://www.amazon.com/Murder-Dollhouse-Jennifer-Dulos-Story/dp/0374608067
This is interesting. I did see the reference in the book but do not recall learning about the alarms going off! Thanks for sharing.

That quote made no sense to me either.

And it wasn’t taken out of context; those words simply don’t even go together! Outrageous!

That's just crazy. So if someone murdered a loved one of theirs and they knew a friend of the murderer assisted with every part of the murder, except the actual killing, they would think that person was innocent? If so, then they must think KM's innocent.
Spot on!

If Troconis "knows" he is more guilty than she is, why is her whole defense, essentially, the victim did it. Or if it wasn't the entirely the victim, it was also the dead guy.

What exactly is she claiming KM is guilty of? Because if she "knows" of his guilt, she was part of the conspiracy of whatever she is implying he did.

I think team Troconis is just upset because KM no longer has his future freedom on the line if he speaks.

I do wonder if MT chats with Beth Ann Carpenter who is also in York. They can swap Norm Pattis stories, but only if Beth Ann speaks spanish.

And didn't FD say in his suicide note that neither MT or KM had anything to do with the murder of JFD? (Admitting his own close involvement)

I just had breakfast, ntyvm.

But now they you've mentioned it, who got custody of that over-the-bed monstrosity?

Michi...she removed it from 4JX iirc and put it into truck.
From the hearing linked above, the Conspiracy charge was vacated by the State (inability to prove guilt for conviction at trial) and KM waived the statute of limitations to allow the misdemeanor reduced charge of interfering with an officer to proceed to conviction by plea agreement (statute for charge expires at two years).

In court, Ferencek said the reduced charge is based on a police interview with Mawhinney in June 2019 where he denied having any contact with Fotis Dulos on May 24, 2019—the day Jennifer Dulos disappeared. An examination of Fotis Dulos’ phone found he’d called Mawhinney that evening around 7:47 p.m.

Had KM not agreed to extend the statute, he essentially would have walked with no conviction in this case. KM is done, his parents' home was cleared as collateral, and the surety bond was released.

This makes zero sense as FD was seen at Stop & Shop with Mahwhinney on the night of the Murders Eve dinner and then again on camera on day of murder at one of the houses (80MS?).

Did we just see a botched investigation or is this CSP pulling the wool over everyones eyes.

I would love to know what really happened here. Maybe if MT is lucky enough to win her appeal, something will surface?

Why wasn't he called to testify? To the meat up, to the arranged phone call? Subpoena, hostile witness? You just get to say no thank you?

Dropped my phone and my head, nothing to see here.

I guess, as an attorney, he knew better than to talk to the police. Maybe that's why her royal highness is serving time and he's not. She talked. She talked, she lied, she made it worse for herself.

At least someone is serving time for this, it's just justice that hasn't been served.

Anybody know? Does typing paper burn cleanly?

The more I think about it, I can't think of any crime scene evidence where burning is useful (outside of a fuelant driven fire pit fire, maintained at high heat for days)

MT wanted JFd gone. She was tired of his divorce and had reasonable to celebrate (evil contessa) on both counts by midday. No more Jennifer, no more divorce.

I want to know if LE recovered or at least located reams of divorce paperwork from 4 JC. Years of it.

Because I think MT happy-danced them into the fireplace, sending the divorce up in smoke.

She couldn't wait to be done with it.

And they each found a way, FD and MT both, to make the divorce go away.

Disgusting.

Here is an unexplored thought I have had:

Maybe the smoke was itself a signal. Like, "Still clear here!"

Much more info is needed, and it's kinda apropos of nothing. But it did come to my mind. Especially since things like the alibi scripts were not burned.

The plan must have been scripted. Scripted and burned.

Clothing, body parts, not going to burn in a fireplace. Paper is all that I can think of.

Bloody papertowels would burn but why risk secondary and tertiary transfer? Easy enough to bin.

Even a box of documents wouldn't burn easy, I don't think. She'd have to keep relighting it. Easier to burn individual sheets of crumpled paper than a brick of them, she may have discovered the hard way.

I think she wasn't "cleaning Jennifer", she was ridding 4 JC of every last trace of her.

I think KM suggested to the State that if he didn't get the best deal possible, he would be highy motivated to share a few "secrets" relating to the Connecticut Criminal Justice System.

Smoke signals--like the Vatican conclave? Intriguing!

If anybody is interested, CT vs Raul Valle trial started today (Tues, 6/17).

Grrrr... Court TV is calling this the "Preppy High School Murder Trial." The defendant is being represented by Attorney Kevin Smith (FD's co-counsel with NP).

This is another senseless murder. High School kids. A knifing at a party. Cmon.
I have not followed the trial but from all I’ve seen - the defendant’s two buddies he was out with that night were given immunity to testify against him.
I’ll give it another look though.

So as far as the book - murder in the dollhouse
I don’t like the tone of the male author. It feels diminishing somehow to Jennifer. A little bit mansplaining maybe
I am only half way through and it’s been a slog. Lots of cliches.
He paints her as not multi faceted but kind of one dimensional.
It feels like, from the authors perspective - Hey I live up the road from NC in Ridgefield, I traveled in some of her same circles - I know the terrain - easy peasy - quick money grab. Gratuitous.
I will finish it so I give it a fair chance but it’s leaving a bad taste in my mouth so far -
JMO.

This article made me think of the various Troconis family members who are in the medical profession, and medical adjacent professions.
