Wow...I am sorry you had to go thru that, but glad you are divorced, I just have to SMH..

In the Courant article, when JD was testifying that FD wanted MT and her daughter to move in with them and their 5 children the judge interjected and said, "with you there?"

Even the judge must have been like say what...?

The gall ...
Narcissistic spouses often don't want to leave their nice, expensive marital homes. Create a hostile environment, forcing their spouse to leave. IMHO.

Yes, then blame the spouse who leaves the hostile home for running away, being hysterical and unstable.

This happens. It happened to me. These type of men have so much narcissistic behavior. People look at me look I’m crazy when I tell this story, which isn’t often.

Thanks to my WS friends.

I have a BFF- newly divorced - with an ex husband that’s not that far off from FD. When she described what her and her children have been thru, I was not surprised. But yes a lot of our friends were shocked “he seems so charming” ...

From the search warrant, we know Fotis was seen putting doctored license plates (previously issued to his 2007 Chev Suburban) in a storm drain (inside fedex box).

Are there any reports that these doctored plates were seen and/or used on a vehicle?

You are very very welcome.

Once you have experience with narcissistic abuse, you want to get on the top of the hills and shout out warnings about it because it is so insidious and destructive.

It takes a strong person to get out and it is not without damage, self-doubt, guilt, regret, a lot of complex emotions that take a long time to sort out. And so sadly, it's not just spouses/partners, but with children who have narcissistic parents.

We need to have high schools teach classes about narcissistic behavior, abuse, and self-esteem.

I do not believe that LE has yet released that information

When did he sneak into the garage without being seen/heard? If she had been home for an hour, she could have seen him approaching the house or heard the garage door. In any case, wouldn't the police be able to determine from other clues in the house (presence or absence of certain items) if it happened upon her arrival or departure?
Not victim blaming just wondering:
In a home if that size and price range, and if she felt threatened by her husband:
Why did she move to such an isolated home? The house does not appear to have security entrance gates, it did not apparently have cameras monitoring and recording the property, inside/outside of the home, nor an alarm system that included her garage, a panic button worn around her neck she can press to activate home alarm system if an intruder approached her, also no a private security consultant; Obviously money was no concern for her, or her family, given their lifestyles:
Why were these basic security features missing?:
Do not understand, if she seriously felt her life, and safety, were in danger, why she did not display any outright prophylactic precautions. Did her nanny live in the house full time?
Just, as an interior designer of very large homes and mansions I would say that security concerns is very basic normally and appear to be totally lacking here!
Also, as a prior RN who worked forensics;
Everyone that can afford protection should never overlook this feature... there are many many psychopaths relieved everyday from prisons; do not understand her lack of security/protection.,,

I’m sorry that happened to you. I posted earlier that I too went through a horrible marriage & divorce very similar to JD’s.

After reading your post and thinking about the hell Jennifer went through, the movie “Sleeping With the Enemy” comes to my mind today.

I believe it had a security system, based on the realtor photos where I see a security system panel in the mudroom area beside the door into the garage. I don't think it would have had cameras, based on what others have sleuthed. Like many people who have security alarm systems, she may have only had it on at night, not putting it on during daytime come-and-go activities.

Only her mother and sister probably know why she chose to stay there.

I have to say it is very close to the children's school and I don't see other houses within that same radius that appear to have gates or a more fortified position.

My guess is that she was thinking about what was best for the children

Just catching up. My husband did the same thing. Wanted another woman to live with us so he could ‘protect her’.

Divorced now and he’s married to her.

Be careful what you wish for.
My best friend was married to a wealthy NY man for years, happily she thought, they had two young children. Then he got the nanny pregnant and moved out with the nanny!
Later the nanny left him for the gardener...
The grass always looks greener until it is proven to be astro turf!

So very true.

I once heard a child say that she would rather have a physically abusive parent as she believed she could at least defend herself physically.

In comparison, she said there was no protection against the resultant abuse from a narcissistic parent's "on - off" fraudulent self switch.

It's no wonder these type are called crazy makers.

Oh that movie should be required viewing for young women.

I think she lived in a different rental in NC when she first moved there that sold in January of ‘19. 153 Chichester. I think Googling JD and the address will verify that.

Protection is paramount if your safety is at risk. She could have motion detectors in the garage with an alarm in the garage with security cameras; that is basic...
It does not appear she was taking her safety and concerns of threats seriously, as she reported to the court, just wondering why?
Yet when she went missing, her nanny was in NY with the children, and her mother; and the mother had a security person present?
Do not understand how she “felt” threatened when she did not act in such manner protecting herself and her children:
All that can afford such security measures should have them for basic protection!

Whether or not she had security (and honestly, we do not know IIRC), that doesn't mean any security precautions would've stopped someone determined to harm her.

I think the only issue with security at her home, imo, is whether any devices captured info that will be useful to the case.

It seems to me she was protecting her children first, herself second.
