Do they have those signs on 132? I've never driven it.
Do you mean RT 123? IDK 132? But RT 123 has a sign when you cross from Ridgefield to Lewisboro/South Salem and then a Welcome to CT sign when you pass from Vista to NC.

No, GF was in Probate Court to request the temporary custody of the grandchildren. She also could have been in probate court for estate matters as well but she initially sought custody in Probate Court which is why I was confused as to how she now ends up in Family Court? Is she now back in Family Court because she has the temporary custody of the grandchildren? Still confused.
Probate is for dead people in my state I have to look at moms motion to intervene which I thought was in the divorce- Case style will tell the truth

Would Jennifer have had a will during her marriage? If so, who did she list as guardians of the children if FD preceded
her in death?

Or did JD rewrite her will after she separated from FD? Who does she appoint as guardian of the children?

Would the court look at a will under the current circumstrances - mother missing for extended time and her blood found in numerous trash bags along with husband’s DNA? Husband has been charged with destroying evidence (or similar words) and is out on bond. FD only wants custody to get his hands on the money that JD left for raising these children! IMO.

I bring this question up as it baffles me as to how a judge could give FD custody of these children with the evidence LE has on FD. It is unlikely JD named her mother as the guardian with the age she is. For the moment, with all the trauma and unanswered questions, her mother is the best choice as she has the matriarch power and money to protect and fight for these children.
My bad didn't read this carefully enough. Good question - I feel like she would have wanted GF to have the children for sure. Or maybe her sister??

In MOO, it looks like Jennifer is in a private jet, in the pic, in the article I posted. There is zero to minimal security needed for boarding a private jet. I flew in one once. Was astounded. No ID check. No checking or x-Ray for bags. No nothing. So there is/was access to a private jet. Possibly. It’s actually quite scary the zero security with private flights. If FD was planning to take the children, it wouldn’t necessarily be something that could be proven with documentation on a commercial airline.

Could be private but it could also be smaller plane used for connections, hard to tell from that shot IMO. Don't doubt that she had access to private but just not sure of that picture.

In most states you are correct but 2 threads ago we did a bit of dive into the Probate System in CT which is used for a variety of other items other than wills/estates etc. GF and her atty were in Probate Court a couple of weeks ago on the custody situation.

Any pilots in FD 's family?

Surprised the Pattis came up with an excuse to immediately 'justify' the trip into NY rather than condemn the fact that it happened. Doesn't seem like Pattis is taking the Courts decision to 'stay in CT absent approval' very seriously and is ok saying effectively that traffic was bad and oh yea **** happens! Crazy that this is the view of a member of the bar IMO. Wonder when we will see the gag order? Desparately needed at this point as this is turning into a circus as is making the already weak CT judicial system seem like a farce IMO!
Pattis is making us despise him more/same as we despise FD

Divorce =family in CT?
Snipped
While FD remains locked up, two child custody motions have been filed this week in the divorce case that has spanned two years.

In addition to Farber’s request for custody, an attorney representing the five children during the protracted divorce asked a Stamford judge to prohibit FD from visiting the kids at their maternal grandmother’s home in New York City.

Judge Donna Nelson Heller immediately granted the request after Michael Meehan, a Bridgeport attorney representing the children, raised concerns in a motion filed with the court about the children’s well-being.

“Effective immediately, the defendant’s access to the parties’ children is hereby suspended,” the judge ordered. “There shall be no contact between the defendant and the minor children until further order of the court.”

Heller’s ruling reversed her own decision in March when she granted FD supervised visitation, while his wife was given temporary sole custody of the children.

Meehan said the day after his wife’s reported disappearance, FD tried to visit the children in New York, but his access was denied.

Jennifer Dulos’ mother files for custody of children.

I don't believe NP knew his client would cross state lines. However, I do believe NP was back pedaling for FD. I think NP just got a lesson in whose really in the drivers seat.
NP is going to have to have a little talk with FD.

From the Hartford Courant article dd. 6/25 As search for New Canaan mother of five Jennifer Farber Dulos ends at Hartford trash plant, her contentious divorce and custody battle with estranged husband escalates:

"The children are currently living with their grandmother Gloria Farber in her New York City apartment. They have been there since the day their mother disappeared. Farber is seeking temporary guardianship of the children in probate court" BBM.

Will have to have a look tomorrow - but the same judge is presiding over custody and divorce right ? The civil lawsuit is a separate matter? I need a legal sheet it seems to note these cases but I’m confident her Mom will prevail IMO

So the reporter is saying probate court? Will check into this as now I want to understand CT as this is very different than my state we have probate judges (ours also handle guardianship) family court judges (divorce DVOs) etc

Does FD have his passports back?
No. Passports are with the court based on last hearing. Remember when they had the last minute SNAFU and someone had to drive to Farmington to locate the missing passport? US passport is supposedly being held by the Family Court.

It amazes me after living in a small New England state, then relocating to FL, how small the states are in the North East...
It takes nothing to drive from MA into RI if you are not familiar with the streets, you would never know... Especially when the GPS on cars keep redirecting your route when driving... unless you personally know the roads a brief unintentional mistake is bound to happen... It is not like he was making a run for it !

He knows these roads....he knew he entered N.Y. when he did.

CT probate deals with a variety of issues- guardianship, conservatorships, death, and also mental health commitments

Definitely looked like a private jet to me. I've been in a few of them - they're known for those wide leather seats often in that saddle color and the polished wood interior.

I found this article on death in absentia in Connecticut. 2012 Connecticut General Statutes :: Title 45a - Probate Courts and Procedure :: Chapter 802b - Decedents’ Estates :: Section 45a-329 - (Formerly Sec. 45-257c). Settlement of estate on presumption of death. 7 years, I wonder if FD is in a rush to get control of the kids because the divorce may not be final for a long time?

I am guessing there can’t be a divorce ? Not to be grim, but how can you divorce a .. so sorry to say this, a deceased person?

I would think being JD “legal” husband at the time if her “disappearance” aka murder and JD not being declared deceased for 7 years benefits FD .. argue for the children, argue for their trusts to “support them” and himself ..

I am with you that GF has picked a team of aggressive litigators to further her interests. I wish her the best but grandparents rights are a murky area of the law but I do hope that she and her team of pitbulls prevails.

My money is on GF. If I just lost my child, had quite a bit of money, and had to look at my 5 grandchildren's faces everyday, you better believe I would be a force to be feared.
Go granny!
