I’ve only been in Lears - back in the day when I toured with my band. Oh wait, maybe I was just an advisor to a rich guy. But in any event, in the picture JD was wearing that million dollar smile like she was on a special family trip in a luxury jet, probably courtesy of her generous father. Wishing she could do that again.

I know he has a very rich BFF, so I was wondering if it wasn't his FIL then maybe his friend. Hoping his friend wouldn't help him out in an escape because, if it is a Citation, it can go a pretty good distance.

I really don't care if the entire highway was shut down. A condition of his release is he cannot leave the State of Connecticut, and he did. Ignorance is not an excuse for violating a condition of his release. He's pushing the boundaries as usual. He's an idiot for even getting close to the border. They should throw him back in Bridgeport. I would not be too happy if I was his bail bondsman.
At a minimum the judge should haul him into court and read him the riot act. The guy is non-compliant. IMHO.

At least Judge Heller (before she was nominated to the court) is very knowledgeable about commercial litigation.

Donna Nelson Heller Nominated to the Connecticut Superior Court | Finn Dixon & Herling LLP

“A litigation partner (of Finn, Dixon & Herling) since 1990, Ms. Heller has extensive commercial litigation experience, particularly in cases involving complex contract disputes, corporate governance issues, business torts, unfair trade practices and financial fraud.”
Yes, agree that her commerical career was distinguished. Not sure that the corporate experience translated to the nuanced world of Family Law IMO though....totally different world.

No. He would need to take advantage of the his friend's private plane and fly out of a small facility.
Or disguise himself and use a fake, very well made passport.

If it were I, I’d go somewhere else besides Greece, though. A place LE wouldn’t be looking for me.

Or I’d cut the anklet just before boarding the ferry that goes across LI Sound to Port Jeff, NY and make a run for it from there. To Mexico?

It would work. I mean look how far Scott Peterson got in his disguise and with his brother’s ID!

Initially I had high hopes that Judge Heller would turn her corporate expertise into unraveling the sorry state of financial disclosure that is FD and Fore Group in Family Court. Sadly she has done little/nothing on that front other than effectively calling him someone that doesn't tell the truth so far as I can tell in the documents. Not sure if legally she can't do anything to compel financial compliance from FD or she just doesn't want to compel his financial compliance and is simply satisfied with calling him someone that doesn't tell the truth? IDK but reading the docs it sure seems she has done little to get FD to clean up his act and follow court orders. MOO.

I wonder if LE is still tailing him, even with the GPS monitor.

I don’t think he’d make a run for it until he saw or spoke with his kids
And sold his properties
But does anyone know if he legally changed his name
Ive seen several spellings
I have three legal birth certificates with 3 different names
I wonder if he does

Also wonder if his knowledge of 'back roads' from Hartford to NC perhaps expanded as he was doing recon on the cameras along the route? Keep thinking how he could have ended up in NY and the main route would be taking RT 84 down from Hartford, getting off in Danbury, following RT 7 South to Ridgefield, go to downtown Ridgefield, go to Rt 123/Smith Ridge Road, follow Rt 123 to NC. This route would take you through Vista NY and Lewisboro I believe. But this is also not a situation of just being in NY for a couple of min as you are in NY for a good 15 min or so until you hit NC. He had to have known this as he no doubt took this route previously. Calling total BS on blaming Waze. FD just didn't want to head down RT 7 South which most likely had bad traffic into Norwalk in order to get to NC.

Initially when I read about the 'foray' into NY I thought he was making a dash for the NetJets terminal at Westchester Airport and we would have an OJ car chase moment except in the air followed live on Twitter/FB/CNN. Oh well....
You can take 106 via Main Street/Drum Hill to NC from Ridgefield, and never touch NY. I do it all the time. And 106 intersects with 123 (where FD's Sturbridge property is). Just sayin'.

Any evidence of the "bad accident" he was supposedly circumventing? I agree with @chloe - FD spent enough time in NC to know when he was venturing outside state borders.
Someone had a twitter feed from State of CT in prior thread for the morning when this happened. RT 7 southbound between Ridgefield and Norwalk can be brutal in the am and this is probably what he was trying to avoid.

Totally agree with you that there are multiple ways to avoid NY on this trip. No reason to go to NY if its not allowed. He has done this trip enough times to know what he is doing IMO.

After I posted about FD making a run for it via the Port Jefferson Ferry, I envisioned him making a sigh of relief, and then turning around and seeing a group of LE staring him in the face!!!

It amazes me after living in a small New England state, then relocating to FL, how small the states are in the North East...
It takes nothing to drive from MA into RI if you are not familiar with the streets, you would never know... Especially when the GPS on cars keep redirecting your route when driving... unless you personally know the roads a brief unintentional mistake is bound to happen... It is not like he was making a run for it !
It seems to me that a man out on $500,000 bond for tampering with a murder should not be forgiven even a brief unintentional mistake.

There is a reason for the stay-in-Connecticut rule or LE would not have instituted it.

Seems to me a good lawyer would have made it crystal clear that FD was to stay in the state ALL the time especially when there has already been evidence that he scoffs at orders from the court.

Lock the boy up!

The ferry would be tricky way to escape as Coast Guard, DEA and Homeland Security are active in that area of the Sound so don't think he would get far!

JMO, but we truly don't know what he may have been doing. All we can do is guess.
He was either testing the water for an escape plan or he's a complete idiot. You know when you are near the state border (I live in Connecticut). I'm aware when I cross over into NY or RI or MA if I'm headed that way. And if I were out on a $500,000 bond I wouldn't take the chance of going anywhere close to the border, traffic or no traffic. This guy is a complete loose cannon and a danger to everyone around him.

If he was going to make a run for it I think he would wear a hair piece and hop on a bus or a train after getting the monitor off. Seriously. IMHO.

He knows these roads....he knew he entered N.Y. when he did.
Of course. Let’s not say “what if what if not/WAZE” blah blah. We are far better than this.. HE KNEW.. HE DOES WHAT THE £€|| he wants to do. He is a reckless fool! His arrest is so overdue.

He is going to make someone in prison so happy. He will be their “special little baklava, or honey ball”!

Just spitting in the wind.
Not sure "No Case Norm" is in charge here! Think "No Case" has been played completely! He looks the total fool and is cursing that he didn't get to control the FD 401k funds!
