One thing FD did that he didn't have to do was go to NCPD headquarters the day after. Have no idea what NCPD told FD about the purpose of this visit but we know FD arrived with his lawyer. Presumably he was prepared to say or do something (superficial cooperation??), otherwise he wouldn't go. I get the impression from FD's motion to have evidence returned that the NCPD visit went south quickly. Seems like FD showed NCPD his phone and was taken aback that they refused to return it, and when the phone was confiscated FD and his attorney quickly exited. IMHO.
I can't figure out the volunteering of the phone. I am guessing LE could have gotten pings from the phone company? But it seems like the actual phone would be even better/more evidence? If I was a killer, I think I would have "lost" the phone. I can't figure the stupidity of carting the phone around with him most of the time. A burner phone wouldn't have been a good idea unless he only used it to communicate with MT and he was sure of her loyalty. IMO.

All of us are going to do the biggest happy dance ever when we finally press that refresh or search button and see the SWAT team arrest Fulos! Hopefully when he’s out having sushi or grocery shopping.
Please let him be wearing the velvet jacket and one glove!

If it were my sister or friend who was missing under these circumstances I would reach out to the estranged husband before contacting police. I don't see a down-side to contacting him and trying to gauge his reaction. But I know others might feel differently. JMO.
If your sister or friend was already embroiled in a bad divorce with a bad man, you probably wouldnt, JMO

Oh, my....she obviously was NOT his neighbor, or parking attendant in NYC, or Jennifer if she dared to disagree with him. This is extremely well written...and probably from her heart, but there seems to be more and darker sides to this complex, driven man.

What is the story with his neighbor? I must have missed that.

Agree, volunteering the phone was very odd. Aside from him actually being innocent, the only way I can make sense of it is superficial cooperation -- trying to appear innocent. I'd like to know what would have happened if LE got a chance to question him that day. You would think he would have been willing to talk since he went to NCPD. JMO.

He gave the phone to them because he had planned out the afternoon gps locations. The alert went out in CT and he forgot about ping locations and rushed off to the garbage can odyssey. I’ve always wondered if they may have been looking for drugs in that neighborhood too. They both looked strung out when arrested.

IMO, FD's cell phone was the decoy (burner phone(s) used during / for the more intensive efforts), which is why he was willing to give it up to LE, cuz it placed him in Farmington where he lived and owned properties, but never in NC where JD went missing. So he could respond to LE inquiries by saying "golly, gosh, gee willikers, officer, I don't know a thing.... of course you can look at my phone".

By having altered the license plate, this is a clear case of premeditation.

Right! I just mean that if he’s trying to say he never used them on the red truck because there’s no sign the plates on the red truck were removed, the old plates might not have to be removed first.

Interesting. But if that's the case I'm not sure why he and his lawyer were angry when cops wouldn't return the phone that day? I'm not a techie but I didn't think LE would be able to know his location just by a cursory look at his phone.

I just took the time ( ) to read FD’s sister’s statement. All I can say is... my ex’s sister would and did say the same garbage. She didn’t know. She wasn’t married to him. He was the little boy she knew, loved and grew up with - not the true monster he had grown up to become.

Ok - You've convinced me.
You’re right! My opinion stinks.
I like your theory.
Can I have it, too?

You are very kind. I am not trying to break down anyone's theories or ideas. We are all here to try and make sense of what has happened to all these people who have been wronged in such horrible circumstances. Everyone's opinion matters and may just be the ticket we need to help LE in some way or at the very least provide us an opportunity to participate.

The NC line has a single train track which connects to the New Haven Line of Metro North in Stamford, CT. The track is electric and is raised off the ground in parts with virtually no clearance/shoulder in sections for the NC portion (prior to moving into Darien and later Stamford). I'm not sure I would ever walk or run on the tracks as if the train showed up and you were in the wrong spot on the line then there would be no place to escape the train. Maybe if you studied the schedule and got comfortable with knowing where you needed to be at what time then maybe you could make it work but I'm still not sure. Someone on thread from back in the 70s said they walked/ran on the track.

The thing though is that even in some of the spots where there is a 'shoulder' to get off the tracks its rocky and hilly and covered in brush. I won't be back for a week but maybe I can take the GoPro down the line from the main station to talmadge hill to explain what I'm talking about in terms of places to escape the train. I will also try to find the historical schedule to post (think we put it in a prior thread) because now there is construction work going on and busses are being used.
As a local familiar with the area, and the train schedule on a Friday morning in May, I would respectfully say that there is absolutely no way that the train tracks were used as a path for FD. The jog from Lapham road to the NC train station would be so easy and fast relative to being spotted on the tracks, there’s no benefit timing wise, and the risk of being seen on the tracks, electrocuted or hit by a train vs putting on a hat and jogging or walking on a busy school/work day with lots of others moving around is not logical to me. For those not familiar with the area, just use google maps and map NC pool, which is close to where the car was left with walking directions to the New Canaan train station and you’ll see it’s a trip that doesn’t require a highly risky walk on train tracks, IMO.

What is the story with his neighbor? I must have missed that.
I going by an earlier media report in which a neighbor(s?) reported that FD was often arguing with others, angry about parking near his home, and drove recklessly.

This is what keeps me psyched.
30 investigators working on the case.
No new searches that we know about.
A detailed presser before they finished the landfill search.
Full court press with competent men.
And what did they say?
We are doing this for Jennifer.

I'm not much of an expert on smart phones. I stopped getting data on mine. I'm pretty sure that google and Apple have locations services that can be turned on/off at will. And that these locations are stored and easily accessible if you choose.

And how can you forget about pings going all through Hartford? Thank goodness for stupidity/high on drugs, I guess.

Don't you think people often maintain "friendships" on Facebook with people from whom they're estranged to keep an eye on what they're saying and doing? (Not that I would....ahem!)
I don't know what other people do, but I limit my Facebook to actual friends and occasional friends of friends with whom I share interests. MOO
