New Canaan is holding it's annual "Family Fourth" 4th of July event at Waveny Park tomorrow. Gates opens at 5pm. Vehicle access passes need to be purchased to get in. The fee is slightly higher for non-residents.

The event is held on the south lawn with the Town Band set up on the back patio. Always a fun time.

The fireworks are set up on the southwest corner, near Lapham Road where JD car was found. LE has the Lapham Road blocked off between the Merritt Parkway bridge to the back entrance off of Lapham. Vehicles can use the main or back entrance.

Many park at the high school or middle school and walk in through the trails.

Do you happen to know if they have a reputation of solving crimes
or do they even report their 'clear' rates? I haven't checked yet but will be sniffing around.
I don't know about the state police, however *IF* Jennifer's search was to be re-focussed to the West Hartford Reservoir property they have a small but mighty police force that will assist. Not rent-a-cops, decorated, committed, and highly knowledgeable...especially about the WHR.

I totally do. The divorce/custody case was being handled in the same court. I know JD/FoDu were supposed to be in court the following week of the Friday she went missing. HF’s estate had been asking for financials and it appears like FoDu was stalling. He was able from 2017-2018 to produce cancelled checks that showed he had paid a certain portion back. I think the official figure FoDu borrowed from HF/Gf was $9,851,158 and as of January he still owed HF estate $2,541,831. There were a lot of motions back and forth between both sides and on August 8,2018 FoDu’s attorney’s request years of GFs tax returns, promissory notes, mortgages loan agreements and so forth. GFs team counter with give us your Quickbooks and financial statements. This is where it gets screwy for me at least on the Olcott properties that FoDu sells. Two of them I think for $1.6 million each to a name I guess I can’t mention TOS as not as suspect or whatever and a 3rd lot for $250,000 which was 33,000 less than what FoDu paid for said lot in 2013.

There is a lot of screwy stuff here I just am mathematically challenged.
Also, adding to the suggestion that financial/business issues were foremost at that time in the divorce case, FDs divorce attorney at the time was Michael J. Rose. Rose is a specialist in employment and business law, not matrimonial/divorce law (and has since begged off the case). He was going up against JDs lawyer who is one of the toughest, best known divorce attorneys in the state.
So that to me tells you something of where FDs fight was- not the kids, but his “alter ego” Fore Group. The hearing was focused on JDs claim of FD hiding his assets and providing untruthful financial disclosures. Someone posted on here links to emails between the attorneys requesting Quickbooks accounting from Fore that were part of the divorce documents.

I completely agree that the upcoming financial disclosure hearing the following week provided motivation for FD to harm JD. “Is there anyone who stands to benefit from this person’s disappearance?” Is the first question LE asks in a missing person’s case. In this case, all of the dirty financial practices of FD and Fore were about to unravel.

New here so not sure how to add to what I previously posted, but IMO I would think that one might be able to section off a body into 3-4 large hiking backpack sized packages. With the Metacomet Trail (right behind Jeff Xing), one might not draw too much suspicion carrying a large hiking backpack especially during daytime hours. the Metacomet Trail connects to the West Hartford Reservoir (WHR)Trails. walking down the town road to get to Metacomet or the WHR with a backpack might get some attention, but following the powerlines down to Metacomet or the Red Trail would keep you off the road. IMO.
Also, though most of the local terrain is very rocky, one might consider that a gas line, water lines, and powerlines run through the West Hartford Resevoir, so IMO if I was going to try to dig a hole I'd start there.
If he put her in 4 separate backpacks to put her body somewhere along the Metacomet or in or around WHR, that would require 4 trips (or 4 accomplices) to dispose of her. He would not have had the time.
If he put her in one backpack, the large hiking back pack, he would have been trying to do that at the height of rigor mortis and it would have been near impossible to fold her up . Plus she weighed 120 pounds and that might have shortened how far he could carry her.

29. There

Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought I remember someone mentioning way back in a thread that her garage door was left open when she went to drop off the kids. I don't recall reading that in an article though. Also the same for the supposed call JD took from a friend in the 9am time frame. That may have also been a rumor but both would be helpful to verify.
That piece of info/rumor about the garage door being left open came from the JD Facebook page. A former local prosecutor posted in, claiming insider information from law enforcement/prosecutors. When people criticized her for sharing insider info she deleted her post.

OMG-he thinks he is the one who is the worst affected? Isn’t everything better than being dead?
Just goes to show how selfish he is.

I read his statement less as a message to MT and more as an utter inability to declare, clearly and confidently, "I did not kill Jennifer or have anything at all to do with her disappearance." Nope, instead he said "I know what I've done" -- subtext: I know I killed my wife, but she gave me no choice, it was justified, I had a right to do it, I know I am still a good person and not a monster in my own narcissistic, entitled, psychopathic, rotten mind. Then he adds "I know what I haven't done" because he realized he was kind of saying -- "I know what I've done, I killed her, yeah so what it was my right and she pushed me to the brink." He is a cold-hearted killer. How dare he say he wants to tell his kids this is all going to be all right eventually. In his sick mind, it's just fine that he took away their beloved mommy and tore holes in their hearts FOREVER. All IMO, MOO.
Ita !

Just sickening.
Hoping Jennifer is found and he is locked away forever and his mouth shut up for good.

if he was smart enough to try and leave his cell phone home in the am or at least turn it off, WHY did he have it on him in hartford that night? ONLY thing in my head is that he only figured they would be looking at cell records during the time of the murder OR that he wasnt trying to raise any suspicion with MT. Any other ideas?
I think he had his phone on him that night because he was (delusionally) waiting for a phone call stating that she was missing and that he should pick up the kids.

I'm anxiously waiting to see if LE has anything new today. I hope it's true that we'll see new charges. I really hope something big breaks but feeling a little skeptical.

I agree, as you and many others have said, it would be nice for LE to bring charges soon. However, isn't it true that once charges have been brought, LE will be obligated to start sharing information with NP. LE is showing lots of patience, IMO, until they have a very strong case that won't allow NP wiggle room in court. At least, that's what I'm hoping and waiting to see.

Enjoy your 'first hand' accounts of what it's like to deal with a
creature similar to FD.
I hope you've enlightened yourself to all to all the Red Flags that
these guys display, and vow that you'll never get involved with one again. They can be very charming and intrigueing and suck
you into their web. Don't ask me how I know.
He fooled me. I really thought I was safe with him. He was home to me. Everybody but me still believes he is a great person. When we met, we had a lot of people in common. Every person I ever knew has been taken from my life. I only know the tip of the iceberg as far as what has been said about me. I can't imagine the things I don't know. I am shunned now and broken.

It's not hard to figure out why FD wanted to dump bloody material
in trash bins in Hartford, especially on the North End.
This chart showing crimes in each Ct. city list Hartford as having the most violent crimes and most murders out of all Ct. cities.

I almost wonder if he gave it to MT with the intention of her holding onto it, and she put it in her purse and instinctively grabbed that on the way to dumpster date night.

First he says this
“I don’t have my kids, Jennifer is not around, Michelle is not around, I’m having a hard time with work,” he told NBC New York. “I have a GPS on my foot. Somebody has to look at who is the one worst affected in this situation.”

Then this happens
A spokeswoman for Norm Pattis released a statement late Tuesday night on behalf of Fotis Dulos.

“My children are the center of my world. I worry about them and Jennifer, and I would tell them that I know it is hard now but everything is going to be alright eventually,” the statement read. “I understand the public’s perception of me as a monster given the little they know about the case, but I trust the system and the process and ask the public to do the same. I believe I have been and will continue to be treated fairly by the criminal justice system. Please keep my children and Jennifer in your thoughts.”
New Canaan Dulos: Fotis: ‘The truth is going to come out'

Sounds like his lawyer is trying to do damage control after that poor me interview.

He may also have thought that in that stretch of Albany Avenue neighborhoods, relations with LE might not be the best and if he was observed disposing of bags, he would not be given up to LE the folks on the street.

You can never control what 'other' say about you, you can only control HOW you react to it. Take control of a 'new' you.
You have to work hard every day to develop that 'new' you. New
activities, new people, new surroundings, new hobbies. It's work
and takes an effort. First STOP talking about him. Wipe him from
your thoughts. If you can do that you're well on your way to
creating a 'new' you. He is your past. Only talk about your 'future'.
Hugs to you.

Broken heals. You will see. You are the lucky smart one. You escaped.

The pinging of the phones on the dumpster run may have been the biggest mistake of this whole crime. NP may have been able to introduce reasonable doubt for the garage, Wavenly Park etc. but I cannot figure out he can explain away the tapes of the disposal of the plates in the sewer and the bags in the dumpsters.

IMO if he made several trips on several days it could even be done during his typical jog time as to not cause suspicion by changing his usual daily routine. Quite possibly maybe he could have waited a day or two before setting out to see if he was being closely followed. IMO he wouldn't have stored a body until burial in his home or right on the property. And you wouldn't necessarily want to have it exposed due to the wildlife. Perhaps one of the little shed-like buildings on adjacent properties.
