I've not seen anything that cites the court restricting the couple from having contact but FD attorney did state in court he was not allowing FD to have contact with MT, and that MT's attorney was not communicating with him.

Two things come to my mind.
He "showed up", who told him what was going on so that he could "show up"?
He knew he could get away with it, because who is going to call the police in front of kids and possibly their parents and other adults. He knew it would cause a scene that the adults would go to lengths to avoid.

I did not intend to imply any stigma. I was just reporting a fact about a silver alert. The OP said a silver alert was related to a medical impairment (blood at the scene). I was merely correcting what silver alerts are for. Of course there should be no be stigma to any mental health issue, be it depression or any other mental health diagnosis! And I have no idea if JD had ANY medical issue, including any mental health issue.

First post. I knew JD in childhood. Needless to say, I am shaken to the core. I am grateful for the sleuthing and compassion. I wanted to offer these two thoughts.

Trigger: Beyond the money and lawsuits, I suspect that FD saw the possibility that JD might try to escape with the kids again. He was supposed to have the kids that weekend (unsupervised?) for the first time since she moved to NC iirc. If he knew the kids were going to GF after school, right before he was supposed to have the kids, maybe he realized JD might not bring them back. (Either for the weekend or maybe for good? Speculation.) If she were to succeed - she would have tricked him, outsmarted him, disobeyed him ... she would have won- again. I don’t think he would be able to stand her winning that round. I don’t think he could take the WILLFULNESS.

A related note: My gut says he was afraid of her. I remember JD as being a quiet observer, fairly private, a little sarcastic and wry. Also: Strategic and competitive and brilliant, all in a quiet way. When the cash was coming in from her dad, and she was busy being pregnant and having kids - he probably could care less about who she was. She was serving her purpose. He probably just nodded at her jokes and laughter and supported her being a writer because she needed the approval and it kept her quiet. But when he sensed that she was pulling away from him - turning on him - I bet it drove him insane. He may not have known what was in her heart but he could probably smell dissent a mile away and not being able to control her - I bet he found that frightening. He couldn’t control her inner flame. So he extinguished it. All IMO and MOO.

Why the posts stopped: Because home life was no longer fun, amusing, or an anecdote to share. The relationship went south and it was no longer safe to write about it. Plus iirc she said in her blog (Patch or website I don’t recall) that he questioned her about sharing life online. If I was terrified of my husband I think that would shut off the taps pretty quick.

After looking at several photos of JD, I imagined her as you described, especially strategic. As a mother, when needed, we all strategize to the max in the best interest of our children. I agree with your opinions of him being threatened/afraid of her and what she was capable of doing. (Pulling away/disobeying/taking the kids) She had a support system behind her, he did not. It is sadly normal behavior for humans to be jealous of those with more and feel the need to take it away.. Thank you for posting.

Upthread somewhere ( I have looked and cannot find it) it was described as how people who used the pond for water skiing practice had to wait their turn and then had practice time for 15 minutes. So, it involved more waiting time than actual skiing. I can certainly see how this would turn off kids who had to wait around for their turn. It is unclear if there were other dry land conditioning exercises he made them take part in. So, it is certainly possible he made them practice for eleven hours but it wouldn't have all been behind a boat. MOO
I mean this as sleuthing the pond and program not the children per TOS

That's what I remember as well - 12:30 school pickup. I think they needed lunch before driving to NYC to meet mom, but I have not read anything to confirm this idea.

There is some reason that the father expected to pick up the children on Sunday, May 26, even making a fuss when he was prevented from picking them up. I'm guessing there was something in the court order for that day giving him permission to pick them up. I think husband and girlfriend would have been in Argentina the following morning if they had all 6 children together.

Did he think that the grandmother was a push over and he could take the children on May 26 without a fight, and then he discovered there were security guards?

The court ordered parenting plan would typically address all Holidays ie. ‘...every other Memorial Day starting on the Sunday night preceding it at xPM’

Yeah I get what you are saying. There is just no indication from police or MSM that the nanny brought the children home to the New Canaan house at all after she picked them up from school. She could have gone to a restaurant or a drive through with them if they needed to eat. So we are dealing with the window of time from at least 8:00 until 12:00 for JD to be attacked in the garage to go missing.

Noon because the housekeeper arrived at JDs residence. Now it’s entirely possible that she never entered the home at all and the killer (MOO Fotis) could have still been in the house and just not answered and the housekeeper left.

We Know from the timeline that FDs electronic cell phone data places his phone at the 80 Mountain Spring Road address in Farmington at 1:37 pm, which is about 60 minutes away from JDs address. This doesn’t mean that he was actually with his phone. But that phone was at that address from 1:37 pm on May 24th until roughly 4:00 pm. That Mountain Spring Road address is very close to what is his current residence and after 4:17 pm electronic cellphone records show FDs phone was back at 4 Jefferson Crossing.

Then ofcourse MT and FD pop up on video surveillance on their trashcan odyssey of stupidity at 7:10 pm and FD is shown on video surveillance at 8:10 pm back at the 4 Jefferson Crossing address checking his mail and hoping for a check from Publishers Clearinghouse

JD’s house is about a 1 minute drive from school so it’s much more likely with an overnight trip planned that a quick stop at home would have happened vs organizing everything before school, etc. Also, I live in the area and most housekeepers either have a key, know the garage code, or have a door left open for them.
