Yes, agreed but I believe that Pattis is only highlighting the uncertainty of FD's whereabouts by commenting on it publicly. Just say "my client does not know what happened to JD and beyond that I can't comment further." In my opinion it's very risky for a criminal attorney to talk about case specifics to the press. JMO.

If Pattis does that he's even more stupid than FD... because what Turks may or may not approve of seriously has nothing to do with FD... from my understanding he grew up and was raised in Greece so if any country shaped him it's Greece, not Turkey.

Plenty of men cheat, so the most normal route for Pattis would be to simply say the marriage to JD died and FD fell in love with MT and that's that. And poor FD can't possibly be alone during the very long divorce and if he goes with this angle, FD and MT will be together for a long long time, or as long as FD needs it anyway.

On another note, am I the only one more bothered by the fact that FD killed JD and not by the fact that he cheated? Yes cheating is bad, but I think him leaving was better for everyone. And if he was as horrible as it seems, I'm sure JD was happy to get rid of him. With obsessive control freaks it's hard to get away and them getting with another woman is often the only way out... sadly it didn't work here, because of money IMO.

For sure, murder is more offensive than cheating. I think it’s the way MT was brought into the marriage, basically. I mean, he DID try to get her moved into their shared marital home. He apparently thought he dictated decisions. iirc, that’s when JD kinda threw in the towel and made the hella BRAVE decision to move out and pursue divorce. He’s given her sooo many reasons to be physically afraid of him, I’m sure she was terrified. I wish he’d have been obsessed enough with MT that he wouldn’t have bothered further terrorizing JD after she left. MT should be freaked out. She knows now what he could do to her and he proved that his only true love (besides himself) is money.

early on - after they found her SUV and then again with special dogs that find electronics within a few days IIRC

Also....poison ivy is everywhere, so he could've gotten a rash from that spot and/or from other places too (like where they are searching today). But that definitely is poison ivy by the orange flag.
