I was kinda being coy and facetious. The ankle bracelet for any prep school graduation in CT would definitely be a first,IMO.

Wouldn't the nanny at some point enter the garage and notice the blood smears/spatter? If JD didn't have any appointments that day they would also notice her car missing. Maybe there would be other signs in the house pointing to activity (or lack thereof) that morning.

I wondered about this. I live in an old house. Our garage floor is concrete.Very porous. That's how I envisioned the blood stains. Are these newer paints less porous?

I think tracking FD's activities the week prior to murder would
give tips on his possible planning.

If he dug the grave say a week prior, put plywood over the hole,
then after burial, put the sod carefully back in place...after a
good rain or two the spot would totally blend in.

If he did this, she will never be found.

Did he also know about her appointments and the housekeeper's schedule? If he was early enough, he didn't have to worry about that.

Just getting back from work. I’m with you. He has to have supervised visits with the children and no phone contact. I don’t know if he would know about the appointments. But he may have known what time the housekeeper comes and on what days. NP wa to people to believe that the housekeeper was there all afternoon but how could she have been? She got there at noon and had to pick the children up at school and drive to grandmas in NY and somewhere said the school had an early dismissal so she couldn’t have spent more than 2 hours or even less and perhaps she didn’t go to the garage. NP playing games

The nanny didn't enter the house though. But the housekeeper did.

If spying on her was risky enough that he needed to disguise the plates, murder was even riskier, so he had even more incentive to use them.

In regards to LE having more damning evidence — then why didn’t they use it for the bond hearing? They had a chance to get his bond raised or eliminated and keep him in jail. They should have used very strong evidence for that, but only used his DNA on kitchen faucet. That wasn’t enough for the judge. They had to have known it wouldn’t be. So, did they not want to reveal stronger evidence? Or is the DNA on the faucet the best they’ve got?

The special coatings make concrete very smooth. Even regular
concrete floor paint fills in most of the holes.
In more expensive homes, the floors are finished with something
not left as natural concrete. At least in my area.

JD weighs 120 pounds and a 55 gallon steel drum weighs 60 pounds. That's a total of 180 pounds. He would have to pour and mix the cement after putting the drum and the body outside of the car before pouring the cement. That would be way too heavy for him to carry by himself.

Per the custody order (I posted an article way upthread I will try to find it) stated he was to see the children for 7 hours on Saturday the 25th and 7 hours on Sunday the 26th. He likely knew they would be in Ny on 5/24. It is MOO that he knew! FD knew about the New York over night trip, JMO.

ITA. We don't know (at least I don't) if these were very specific hours (11-6 for instance), but parents have to coordinate these things. He knew. He may not have known about the appointments, but he knew about the NY trip. MOO.

Correct, but I mentioned in an earlier thread that I have been missing my front plate for almost five years (my husband accidentally left it in the trunk of our vehicle we traded in and we were unable to retrieve it), and I have yet to be stopped for it (knock on wood). I should really make it a point to get a new one.

The nanny didn't enter the house though. But the housekeeper did.

Is there any chance that the vehicle the nanny was driving would be parked outside in the driveway so she would not need to enter the garage?
Also, I wonder if he was aware that the kids had early release that day? (12:30 dismissal)

Never say never.
FD had two windows of opportunity to hide the body, IMHO. One was shortly after the murder, in daylight. This could work if he chose the right remote spot and prepared it ahead of time. The other opportunity was in the wee hours of the morning, under cover of darkness, closer to his home turf. If he did it then, he would have driven the body back toward his home, as opposed to leaving it in NC, where he planted her car. I haven't yet decided which I think is most likely.
