Your observations are true as a general rule but I believe the difference here is that he is a named party in the lawsuit in which MT is being deposed. As a named party in Farber v. Fore/Dulos, he is allowed to be present. It’s not some unrelated to him civil matter. HE is the civil defendant where MT is to testify about what she knows about Fore.
I understand. Even if he is the defendant in a civil case, in many states, he would not be allowed to attend MT's civil deposition IF she is a witness in the criminal case. The cat would be out of the bag about her actually being a witness and the State may not be ready to reveal her cooperation right now. Even so, that protective order should prevail. There is no constitutional right for a party to attend a civil deposition, so his presence could be limited by the judge. It just depends on how the State and MT want to play this card IMO.

I saw something interesting today...

I had passed by a Farmington Bank today that was located in a very prominent and successful place and notice it had been changed to a People's Bank. This led me to wonder if it was just this location or if Farmington Bank had gone out of business completely. I drove by two more in separate communities and the buildings were vacant with all signs removed. I know the bank employee from the weird mortgage with MT was from Farmington Bank. Does anyone know if FD banks at Farmington Bank as well?

It just shocked me because Farmington bank had a stellar reputation and prided themselves in being the local hometown bank. Their branches were in very quaint downtown areas and they focused on the people immediately closet to the branches. In New Britain, the best part of the city (crime/cleanliness) is Broad Street, where the 3rd highest population of Polish immigrants are. Farmington Bank had a branch right in the heart of Broad Street and all of the employees spoke Polish and were trained in doing all facets of financial transactions with Europe. So it's just weird to think of them selling out to a more sales driven bank.

Does anyone know which property the woman who left the bad BBB review for Fore Group owned?
either she left a fake name or did not go through with the deal, she's not in any property records
in the general area.

Oh, no worries at all! It was very nice of you! I just wanted to let you and Laughing know so your kind note was seen by the person you intended!

My opinion only...he poisoned them all. FIL an M were having health issues for awhile before succumbing. If Jen had thousands of dollars of tests recently, maybe she too was feeling ill but it hadn't been pinpointed yet??

Oh, gosh! I never had considered this!

Is that the main concern with having him present?

The Sturbridge NC mortgage is help by Danbury Savings Bank. About Us

I hope the bank is all over the FO situation as that property has the 2 additional private mortgages and a growing list of trade claims filed against it.
As long as the Danbury Savings Bank is in first position they are sitting in the catbird seat so to speak but if the IRS, state or local municipalities put a lien against the property those liens would have to be paid first.

Bowman has been very clear about wanting FO to have zero contact with MT, presumably for very valid reasons. MT and FO are being tried separately in criminal court. My understanding is that the civil deposition would take place in GF atty office in Hartford. So, picture MT giving her deposition with FO sitting possibly 6 ft away in a conference room? Yikes! Awkward, Uncomfortably, Possibly Scary and Certainly Intimidating I would think. MT could also be facing GF as I believe she has the right to be present as well. Not sure if she thinks its worth her personal time to spend the day going to Hartford but I think she has right be be present as well.

Perhaps the State will make the suggestion to have a video hookup for FO to watch from another location. But I agree with Bowman that keeping these 2 parties apart makes quite a bit of sense for a variety of reasons. Expect Pattis to argue strongly about FO rights etc. and get out his constitutional law text book and blast away. But I hope calm and logic from the Judge will prevail and FO kept away from MT while still being able to hear via phone or video.

Yes, that's what I'm concerned with. Sturbridge IMO is most salable property if the price were reduced. I'd hate to see a small local bank hit in this situation. There is the 1st, 2 additional mortgages, GF attachment and all the trade liens. You have State and Federal authorities swooping in and suddenly any equity that might have been in the property evaporates. Danbury Savings Bank should be ok but I just hope they are watching things carefully as should GF. MOO

That was so odd, too. I’m not in banking but I don’t think of mortgage-loan officers feeling the need to take the 5th. MOO.
Does anyone know if the bank was named as a defendant in the action?

Its a mess there. But the good news is that I don't believe it has an extradition treaty in place with the US. Bad news is that I wouldn't think MT would be anxious to flee there. But if its between 7-10 in prison and Venezuela perhaps she would consider it? IDK. MOO

Isn’t dashing Olympic skier from Argentina? South America was the destination for many ex-Nazi after the war, especially Argentina.
This isn’t a can of worms. It’s Pandora's Box.

Got it. Ugh, I couldn’t even imagine the tension and energy level in that room, especially with those black, soulless, beady little eyes burning holes right through her.

Absolutely! No incentive whatsoever for FD to participate or cooperate in any sale if one was to materialize. JMO but I think he might be the type who would go in and strip the house if it was going to foreclosure.

Honestly, this whole tragic and sordid story would make for a great movie. And as I write that, I hope it never does.
Those five children...what will their lives be?

I'm sure shows such as Dateline and 20/20 are already in production with this story. Those children are going to need miracle workers in all forms to offer love, as well as, psychological support for feelings of abandonment and grief forever...a father who loves his children does not put this type of life sentence on them. Enough already with the politically correct handling of this case. It would seem to me that, years ago, if someone was caught disposing of bloody items of his or her missing spouse, they wouldn't be walking around. I hope JD haunts FD's dreams every night. He's a monster.

If the payments are so far behind, why aren’t banks and GF foreclosing? Save what they can.

Does anyone know if the bank was named as a defendant in the action?
This event took place in Family Court so info is very limited absent getting a copy of the actual testimony. The witness list in Family Court only lists the indivdual SM and not the financial institution if that helps.
