Is it possible that MT and FD are communicating with each other now?
Yes. Posted that earlier. Ask any 15 year old how to do it.

  • #202
Pattis was annoying. FD made himself look worse with having to correct his use of past tense when speaking of JD. All in all, I think it was a decent summary, especially the new charges added at the end.

It made me laugh when the reporter (narrator ?) said “Fotis came up with the money & got his own ankle bracelet.”
They did manage to slip a couple zingers in there.

Anyone who follows a case closely on here, and then watches a Dateline or 48 Hours episode, is invariably going to be left feeling a little disappointed.

We nit pick over every little detail, and a 44 minute show just can’t get into it that deeply (nor does the casual viewer want that).

I was mad before this show even aired, because I thought Norm would get more time on his soapbox.

It wasn’t really effective. Fortunately.

Mmm. Almost through NP's hour of free publicity. Some observations: 1.Where is the mention of the EE's statements to LE? Had Dateline already finished the edit or was that particular evidence so conclusive of guilt that there was no longer a "mystery"? This is absolutely critical to the story! Shame on Dateline for not including it; 2.In addition to finding NP a barber, will someone tell the man to find a decent pair of shoes? 3. FD hasn't given many statements? Oh, please, he'll talk to whoever puts a microphone in front of his face (and of course, agrees not to ask him any hard questions); 4. No mention that the alibi has been blown apart of the Alibi Scripts??? Has Dateline not even read the latest AW or again, did it not fit the prearranged Mystery Script? The complete failure to mention the evidence in the 2d AWs in just plan bad reporting.

Finally, some of FD's comments were so very telling, including, "it was going to be an amicable divorce" "We just grew apart"and, of course," I don't owe Dr. Farber money." What about the affair, dude? I have nothing to hide? Seriously? Why did you refuse to talk to LE on the 25th and have failed to do so every single day since that time? Why did you tell the EE to change out and destroy the seats? Why did you rehearse the fake alibi with MT in front of the EE? Why did you pay in cash to have EE's truck detailed without EE's knowledge or consent? Why did create the false Alibi Script??? The list of "things" FD "has to hide" goes on and on!

And the way he kept referring to Jennifer in the past tense. "I wish she WERE here to sort these things out? And then he caught himself and tried to change his tenses. He used the past tense because he knows she is dead. So very, very telling, the smile, the eyes, the rash. Has anyone since Scott Powell given such a terrible interview? And, if I recall, didn't Mr. Powell also claim that his wife had left with the kids and he just wanted her to come back home?

The story ignored a whole lot of evidence that any good reporter would have included, but as a mentor once told me,"Good lawyers don't try their cases in the media. They try them in the courtroom." NP and his clown shoes have gotten their 15 minutes of fame. While NP is enjoying this free publicity, his client will pay for it for the rest of his life. And that will be the justice that Pattis claims he is seeking and that FD so clearly deserves.

Waiting for AW 3 is not doubt killing Pattisville and FD. I'd like to see a couple more AW's to simply drain the cash and possibly put an end to the "Greek Benefactor".

On Dateline, if its anything like the IMO disasterous Sarah Wallace interview, my guess is that Pattisville might have had limited editing ability.

IMO these interviews are always highly negotiated IMO but we unfortunately don't know exactly how much control Pattisville had of the final product. My guess is that Pattisville and FD were able to view all footage shot that day for the interview and Pattisville might have had to approve the final result.

Doing an interview when an active LE investigation is clearly ongoing as is the case here, is IMO a highly questionable move on the part of Pattisville. I hope this isn't all being done so that some day FD can put forward an appeal for incompetent representation from Pattis & Crew?

Based on the Dateline trailers it just seems that we will see more baiting of the States Atty as to where the body of JD is located as why claim that JD is 'alive'.

Given the details of the AW my guess is that Pattisville perhaps should be careful what they ask for, but we shall see!

MOO
And that is exactly what we got. More stupid theatrics and no substance. So Mr Pattis has read Jennifer's book but won't share it with us. I wonder why. Could it be because what he claims it is about is just one more lie in a string of lies? Pattis and his client are well-suited for one another.

It is not my practice to be so critical of defenders, because they serve a critical function in our system of justice. IMO, however, Mr. Pattis' conduct is reprehensible, mean-spirited, misogynistic, and downright slimy. I suspect he will try every trick in the book to try and keep women off the jury. Despite his 'hip' ponytail, his disdain for the mother of 5 will sink him with female jurors IMO.

I understand why he is not well-liked in the CT legal community. He is the kind of guy who gives lawyers a bad name. But again, his 15 minutes of fame are over and it is time to turn our attention to the one question Mr. Dulos AND his lawyer failed to answer,"Where is Jennifer?"

“Right now my life is a mess, and I absolutely have no interest and desire to be in this mess.”

Sorry Fotis, that’s called Karma.
Agree with you 100%!!!

Did anyone see any self awareness from FD tonight that just maybe he might have had a role in just about everything we saw on TV tonight? FD seems puzzled as to why this is all happening to HIM?!? The stmt about being happy with his life with MT and the divorce being the part of his life that he was unhappy with and that he just 'wanted it to be over' was to me one of the more interesting statements made and I think its a statement Pattisville will regret. We shall see!

IMO I saw zero responsibility from FD tonight for anything that has befallen him. I didn't find this surprising as its how he rolls but to see the words coming out of the mouth and FD portraying himself even slightly as a victim is simply too much to bear. I wonder how well FD niece knows FD as she seemed to simply parrot the narrative put forth in FD sister letter and frankly didn't add much beyond what we already know IMO.

To hear FD call JD an 'excellent mother' after everything that was said in FC was also the bridge too far IMO. The claims of 'no arguing or fighting' also were contrary to FC testimony. Not sure why NBC included Ronna as a JD 'friend' its not clear she had any recent contact with JD or at least since JD left Farmington (so, over 2 years?).

Watching the answer to the question of 'did you have anything to do with the disappearance of JD' I almost have to wonder if Pattisville defense will be that FD has a twin and that it wasn't FD in the Tacoma or on Albany Ave but his twin. Pure insanity IMO along with the JD is alive!

The last segment with the AW update looked hastily edited IMO so kudos to the State's Atty for filing the latest AW to make sure that not only additional charges were brought against MT and FD but that the narrative for the Dateline episode focused on the present information in the AW and not further victim shaming and the Pattisville narrative based on pure speculation.

I'm sure we will see more from Dateline as further details emerge and I hope that the approach remains balanced and even handed. I do believe that the last segment with the AW was a last min add to the show, so I wonder how the original version would have been ended? I'm always curious! Sorry, not sorry!

MOO

Wonder if Dateline paid for this "Exclusive"
taping?
They had many beautiful photos of JD and the
kids when they were small babies. Guess FD
provided those?
Lots and lots of info left out.

Sorry to harp on the Casey Anthony case but much was made of the fact that Jose and the Anthonys were being paid for interviews.

The networks said they didn't pay for interviews but they did admit paying for exclusive photographs and video.

I firmly believe there was a big payday for FD which, of course, passed directly to Pattis.

Video of his children on skis and with their mom as well as the romantic shots of him with MT put Pattis a bit more in the black for those billable hours.

FD is no richer today than he was when he couldn't post his bond.

So glad I stayed awake to watch this! He is the victim "trying to build a new life". He had no idea she was leaving? Ha! I also noticed his niece used the same words as he - "people grow apart - it happens". How rehearsed. NP was just spewing the same drivel. It think it's smart that MT's attorney is not getting involved in their sideshow theatrics.

The reporter said there were two license plates found. That's news. I wonder if that is accurate? I believe murder charges are imminent. MOO!

The niece might as well have said, "People get murdered - it happens."

She was the best the family could do for FD?!

This deserves a BRAVO! Please just copy and paste and send it to NBC Dateline's editors.

The way these episodes are replayed and available online is the best jury pollution NP can create considering the damning facts in the second arrest warrant, IMO. And, NBC in its desire to create sensationalism to capture viewers is shameless in letting this air without all of the information available. The AWs are 7 days old; they certainly could have included more of the recent newsworthy information.

Thanks for all the good summaries. Since tomorrow is an early day, I'll save my viewing of the episode until life is calmer.

Sorry Fotis, that’s called Karma.
Read that quote and thought for a minute you were talking about yourself a few days ago, MG!

Sorry, I must have missed that one. @@
And why would I ask a 15 year old?

Bc they know all about communicating off the radar. There are apps. that leave no trails. Dark web. Really weird stuff.
That's about all I can tell you bc I don’t know. There are piles of ways to communicate incognito. I think some of the discussion about FD contacting his two oldest children talked about specific ways to get around no contact order. And leave no trail.
At that age, they are absolute geniuses with technology. I’m happy to be able to text and include a picture.
Sorry I can’t be more helpful.

Baez got a big chunk-somewhere around 300k for selling pictures to The Enquirer. Dateline says it doesn't pay for pictures, but I also wondered where those photos came from. I cannot imagine that Dr. Farber would want those poor kids' pictures blasted all over national TV as she has been very protective of them. That is a pure FD move and completely indicative of how much he loves those poor children. Not nearly as much as he loves himself. He is a classic malignant narcissist and his willingness to expose his children to unwanted, undeserved and potentially harmful attention confirms how far he is willing to go to "win."

I think it would have ended with FD and his little sob story! I loved the part about him wanting it to "just be over".....Oh, it will, FD; it will.
AW3 is coming 'round the bend and we'll see a lot of you quite clearly on video!
(I'm betting Dateline has the next show about this half done.)

That business of what a good mother Jennifer was sure flies in the face of all his talk about her being plumb crazy and just staying in her room not caring for her children.

The frustrating thing about any of these shows (and this one was better than most) is how much gets left out.

We would all be much more entertained by them, I suppose, if we weren't here learning what the networks could discover if they'd just log on!

One downside:
Now I have to go and find video of the clown shoes!

I am no longer stunned nor stumped by anything NP or FD say or do. It’s truly pathetic this insistence that JD is alive. FD also seems to undermine the chum NP dumps in the water. I know they are counting on that one juror or two that are completely devoid of common sense.

If JDs body did not go through MIRA I would volunteer to look if NCPD would let me. I’d pick up a shovel and tear 80 Mountain Spring apart. I’d look in the creek beds behind that property. Whatever they needed. Can you imagine if the NCPD asked for help how many volunteers they’d get?

FD is sooooo confident she will never be found.

Absolutely agree. I was shocked to not see the faces blurred of the children in the photos. Shameful and expected that Dateline would not have put the 5 children on display as they did.

FD seemed to be appealing to the very active "Divorced Fathers in CT" lobby groups and online communities based on his statements that JD somehow packed up his children, filed for a restraining order and then filed for divorce narrative. The idea that FD thought he was going to have an amicable divorce flies in the face of nearly 500 motions filed over 2 years in FC and is frankly ludacris IMO. What I do find facinating is that FD has received zero support from ANY of the Fathers groups in CT and no support online either so far as I can tell and was actively criticized by a major DV group in CT.

I should have mentioned in my first post that it was disappointing to see no mention of DV in the Dateline narrative. I realize time limitations exist but the FC file was rich with commentary and while the idea of JD being afraid and scared of FD was mentioned a few times, none of the horrible comments made in court by FD were presented. I do wonder if Dateline cut FD just a bit too much slack tonight? Perhaps those were the terms of the interview? IDK.

Part of me wishes I had been able to see those photos because I’m sure they were so sweet but the other part of me feels like that would be intruding on them (weird, I know) if FD provided them. I don’t understand why he would do that—or anything else he did, to say the least. MOO.

Correct, that vehicle would have required two plates.

Vehicles in CT must display license plates issued by the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).

Most vehicles must have 2 license plates; a plate for the front and a plate for the back. Vehicles such as motorcycles and trailers are issued a plate for the rear only.

I’m thinking it was just as well I couldn’t watch it tonight as it sounds infuriating. Thank you for your always-clarifying assessment.
