So if @MassGuy is correct (as always), then, did FD intend that whatever blood was produced would be contained on a tarp in the garage? IOW, if he did use that fish knife and his plan was to grab her from behind, pulling her down onto the tarp (which she can't notice as she drives in otherwise element of surprise is lost), and his plan was to slit her throat and keep all the blood on the tarp, well then.

It's a possible plan, but he is pretty ignorant and the best laid plans go awry. People die pretty quickly if the carotid artery in the neck is sliced, but they don't just drop gracefully to the floor and cooperate by keeping their blood in one area. Pretty easy to get it on the car (obviously). This assumes FD is right handed (I don't know - it could have been the jugular if he's left handed).

It seems to me that it's likely that if a knife was the murder weapon, Jennifer had some chance to move and fight (even if she just sort of crumpled, like we're taught to do in self defense classes), he'd have had to modify his overly thought-out, non-airtight plan.

NIH reports that a single slice fatal neck wound still leaves time for the victim to aspirate blood, which means if they can still take a few agonal breaths, they can also gasp out some blood spatter. There would also have been blood spurts toward the front of the victim's body (usually ending up on a nearby object, such as a car and not easily predicted to be contained on any tarp).

FD clearly didn't realize how much clean up he'd have to do. He probably thought it would be like in the movies.

Sounds like FD also went into the house and washed up? Arrogant and idiotic both.

Yes, just confirmed in print via WFSB.com (midway through article below):
'Bring it on,' estranged husband's lawyer tells the state

Quote from article:
"On Thursday, sources said state police were searching the West Hartford reservoir on Route 4. A few troopers were seen at the reservoir just before 1:30 p.m.".
Please let them find JD and bring her home to her family. And please do a full perp walk for FD with as many cameras and reporters as possible. MOO.

@davealtimari
While Fotis Dulos was in court in Norwalk state police detectives were arriving at the MDC reservoir of Farmington Avenue to search. His Farmington house is accessible to this reservoir.

  • #244
It was revealed early on the reservoir is connected to his backyard. A cameraman who is at the scene now tells us that they're not searching in the water but around it ..

What do you all experienced WSers make of the timing with this search, given that FD just walked out of court this morning and the evidence in the warrant seems to be sinking him?

Is it a fake or wild goose type tip called in by someone who saw just saw this on the news and either is connected to FD and wants to mislead, or is a naive TV viewer who is like, I think I saw someone who looked like FD early that morning when I was running there, I swear I did?

Or did MT or maybe KM give up some info and its just coincidence its a few hours after FD showed at court?

Or is it strategic on the part of LE?

It feels like things are fast forwarding but on the other hand there have been so many searches and still we haven't heard they found anything anywhere (not that they didn't, but no big breaks for us months later.)

I think something triggered this search today IMO

I think MT had a come to Jesus moment to CHA in some sort of deal ... I always believed she knew where JD was /is . I also think her show with LE in the woods by 80 MS was a goose chase created by her as a diversion .

One of my favorites is (paraphrasing) The Irish have fleeting moments of joy knowing full well that tragedy lurks around the corner.

This is on Rt 4 heading in to West Hartford, right?
Smaller reservoir on the left hand side, as I remember it.
If so, this is their second time there.
Maybe coming from Miss Michelle?
MOO.
Hope I have this correct.Trying hard to stay up with all these astute posters.:D

Looks like Albany Avenue might connect with Farmington Avenue around the reservoir as well, according to the map. Hopeful about whatever lead produced this new search. Fingers crossed.

If you’re trying to make it appear that no crime was committed, you need to ensure that you don’t leave blood behind.

That’s why it’s stunning to me that he would use a knife as a weapon. I don’t think you could find a worse instrument to use.

The tarp idea would be solid, but I think she’d spot it as she was pulling in. She’d have to have a tarp on hand too, as I can’t fathom him walking or biking to her house holding a tarp.

To support the tarp idea, it would limit blood in the garage, and minimize the amount of blood in her vehicle when he transported her.

So that part would make sense.

So I guess I’m unsure as to how I feel about this.

Yes thankfully our group members screen shot everything here is the pic:

Both pics are of the same body of water. she probably stole the pics from google like the majority of the other pics but it was certainly strange

I don't think he was planning a bloody murder. I think the pillow ( if true) was use to suffocate her to death but he did not expect her to fight back and that's when he used the knife (if also true) to end her life. And that caused the unplanned garbage throwing and unplanned bloody cleanup JMO
