Yes just saw the Patch in that area, said 2 doz LE officers, and police dogs at Reservoir! Bring Jennifer home, let today be the day!
They are searching the grounds. No one is in the water still as of now.

That's a lot of LEOs, IMO. I don't think they would send 2 dozen people out there with dogs to search this many months after the other searches unless the tip is pretty specific. Hoping they continue to search and find something and can process it over the weekend, and we'll hear about an arrest on Monday. Justice for Jennifer and her loved ones!!

It is certainly frustrating to await a final arrest for murder, but I'm sure all LE involved are doing the best they can, and it's been an absolutely astounding amount of work.

I think your first sentence not only unfair, but likely not valid. Just because they don't have a lot of murders in town doesn't mean that's not a top priority when it happens.

I see your point, and that was just my own opinion. I don't believe that it is the NCPD's fault. I just do not personally think that they are equipped with the resources nor experience to tackle this investigation with the amount of force that it needs. Local law enforcement in the area I am sure is making it a priority. But I question the length of the investigation, and after seeing the amount of overtime the officers have worked on the case, I just worry that they are in over their heads. MOO

They first searched the reservoir the night before the DA first met with MT (6/6 was the meeting I believe). At that point, I was convinced she had given them something to follow up on, but, that we know of, nothing was found.

Today is the third time they've been to the reservoir that we know of. They are there in force today. They clearly have a strong tip that leads them to believe something is there. Hopefully it's MT, she knows all the details, and she's ready to negotiate.
Is it the third time or the second time?
The whole reservoir system is confusing.
I think they searched at reservoir 6 once.
This would be there second search at reservoir 1.

They are searching the grounds. No one is in the water still as of now.

I don't know as much as the rest of you experts, but it seems to me that, if they have dogs, it would be time well spent to have them sniff around the area FIRST, to judge where, if any, entrance to the water may have been (if indeed they plan to even look in the water). That area would have been touched by not just her body, but also whoever brought her there.

edit: transposed words once again

It’ll be interesting to see if they are back out there tomorrow if no canopy tonight . A tad less than two hours before sunset 7:08 PM , for them to wrap it up for the day . If they are still out there after dark them I think we have hit pay dirt.

The FBI and Connecticut State Police have been heavily involved in this investigation.

This isn’t some small police department going it alone.

These two have already been charged with two counts of tampering, and there’s no rush for the prosecutor to file charges.

He’s the one who makes the call here, not the police.

Thanks, sds71. Hmm, for some reason reservoir 3 is ringing a bell. I think it was a very likely spot for FD to have disposed of JD's body according to someone posting here about a month ago. JMO
Okay, I was looking at this satellite view earlier, so I figured I'd share some of my thoughts.

- The circled property is 4JX. An arrow is pointing to reservoir 3.
- I drew a line through wide open areas that appear to have power lines through them. A maintenance path runs parallel to them.
- I circled the maintenance road that runs through the area, as well as another opening in the trees that appears it would be easy to navigate.
- If this is premeditated, my guess would be that JD is likely in the densely forested area between all of those paths.

I don’t think they think she is in the water at all.

I bet FD is starting to squirm a bit just now, and LE has a couple other LEOs keeping him under surveillance. MOO

I don't think MT participated in JD's murder, and the existing charges against her for tampering and obstructing will hold, no additional charges. MOO
ETA: That's only if there is no additional evidence against her that she directly participated vs. helping him cover it up knowingly or unknowingly.
Well, that sort of covered all the bases.
Ha! She totally didn't do it unless somebody finds out she did!

Also, to give some perspective of the woods around the reservoirs and 4JX.

What area? There are a lot of woods here.
What I mean is the spot he left the red truck parked. Where it was captured on bus video parked. If he showed back up there in the suburban with her body, is there a place he could have dumped the body right near there, without having to drive off with her? And then he left that turnout in the red truck with no body but bags of bloody stuff? Or is it just a concrete turnout with no wooded area immediately against it?

I'm thinking maybe MT has confirmed what a
couple locals reported way back, the week after
JD's disappearance.
The reported rumors were that FD was seen on
2 separate days in this area w/ a large backpak
and a shovel. This happened the week after FD went missing. Too coincidental not to have some validity, IMO.
This would be the 3rd time LE has been searching this area. But it's a HUGE area.

Only quoting my own post because it got me thinking ...
If FD went back to 4JX with JD’s body maybe his BS story of “meeting” with an attorney is just the slightest bit true ... meaning his meeting was to have KM help him hide the body .... also do we know where MT was at the time he arrived back at 4JX? Did we ever find out if her returning the purse was true ?

Apparently, MT told LE that FD returned home to 4JX sometime between noon and 1:30 pm that day, and they shared a 15 minute lunch together.

The shovel thing seems so suspect to me. Who just carries around a shovel?

ETA: I mean the validity of the tip. If he really was, then that's huge.

Have you read the 2nd arrest warrant? It was written by State Police. It's a masterpiece. NCPD has also assisted. LE has been incredible in this case.

The red truck was somewhere along Lapham Road, and JD's car was found abandoned on that road as well. The road borders Waveny Park, which the police thoroughly searched with helicopters and K-9 units the day after she was reported missing and they discovered her car.
