From the Hartford Court the day's Events:
8:30 a.m.: Concerns raised earlier about the value of the properties used to secure the $6 million bond Dulos posted after his Jan. 7 arrest on murder charges prompt a Superior Court judge to schedule an emergency hearing to revoke that bond and send Dulos back to jail.

State insurance regulators transmitted their findings to Palmetto Surety — the South Carolina insurer that underwrote the bond with six pieces of real estate — that two of the properties were subject to foreclosure and a third was found to have been substantially overvalued.

Palmetto’s local lawyer, A. Ryan McGuigan, planned to move in court to revoke the bond and discussed his plans with Stamford/Norwalk State’s Attorney Richard Colangelo at about 8:30 a.m. of the impending revocation. Colangelo notified Dulos’ attorney Norm Pattis about 30 minutes later.

10:30 a.m.: Mark Motuzick, of Capitol Bail Bonds in Hartford, says he called Dulos at about 10:34 a.m. to talk about possibly taking over the $6 million bond, but Dulos tells him it was “all set.”

11 a.m. to noon: In the hour before the expected court hearing, officials become concerned that Dulos had not arrived in Stamford yet.

GF and the rest of JFD's family all need our best thoughts, prayers, or meditations today, especially those five very young and impressionable children. The challenges and heartache that will follow each of them will be tremendous, regardless of the prognosis and eventual outcome of Fd's medical condition.

As each of them struggles through the grief process...twice over...because today the kids lost the father they thought they knew and he probably won't be the same if he lives...may they be surrounded with love, support, and space to heal. Oh...my...goodness...I've been overwhelmed with concern since this morning when I first heard of Fd's attempt. How can one person cause so much pain for others?

Exactly! Every single child experiences life in a way that challenges them at least. What more do these kids have to endure and suffer through? I know they say God/the Universe never hands us more than we can manage but seriously? 5 innocent children who have suffered enormously at the hands of their own father. And they continue to suffer needlessly. There will never be an answer in this lifetime to sufficiently address the questions they must have. Heartbreaking.

McGuigan said he and a private bondsman arrived at the Dulos home in Farmington to serve notice that they would be formally moving in court to pull the bond. McGuigan said he encountered a state of confusion.

Farmington police were on the scene, joined by emergency medical personnel.

Farmington police had been called to the home at 11:54 a.m. to conduct a well-being check on Dulos, who had not left for court, and instead found him sitting alone in his car in his garage with “obvious signs of medical distress,” Lt. Timothy McKenzie said.

The first responders located Dulos in the garage of his home. McGuigan said Dulos, who appeared unresponsive, was moved to the backyard from the garage, which appeared to have been filled with smoke or exhaust.

Noon: Emergency medical personnel begin efforts at resuscitation, which continue for an extended period of time, two sources say. A throng of reporters already gathered at the house grows as initial reports that Dulos has died spread, including notification of the family.

12:45 p.m.: Despite initial reports, an ambulance and police escort come speeding out of the neighborhood and race Dulos to UConn Health less than 3 miles away.

We've speculated about this a lot here @oveido, LE made the statement that they believed the search and 17 days at MIRA was "worth it". We don't know what was found at MIRA yet based on AW3. One of the local news stations did a good interview of the crime lab in Meridan, CT that was where most the forensic work was done and they said most of the sample that come in take between 7 days to 3 weeks to process. Based on this, any items from MIRA would have been made available to the State long ago. We know that the FBI has been involved from the beginning of the case as we saw them in Waveny Park searches and present at NCPD headquarters in the early days of the case and we don't yet know if they handled any of the forensic, video or electronic data work associated with the case. We are waiting for so many pieces to be added to the puzzle.

I truly believe that’s where she ended up and they do have some evidence of this - I’ve always found it odd that organized searches did not continue for months after she was murdered - if they did search maybe I’m forgetting - I really hope they get back inside that house and seize his computers and phones and see what he’s been up to

this above to me suggests that he was absolutely terrified of having his bond revoked and going to prison today. Jmo. I think that the phone call he received from his attorneys regarding the bond adjustment hearing precipitated this act. It gives me no clue as to how long he was in the garage with the gas but to me it suggests that today’s suicide attempt was directly related to him believing his bond would be revoked.
Interesting he was calling other bondsman. Did NP abandon his client today? Yep.

From what I could see per the drone coverage -- I do believe that emergency personnel were unable to detect a pulse after 15 minutes of CPR while FD in the driveway Most likely FD was plugged in when loaded in the ambulance and faint pulse detected. He wouldn't be the first that was DOA in the parking lot and comes back after passing the hospital doors. MOO

Seems like LE / first responders got to him "just in the nick of time", and broke into the vehicle and saved him with CPR out on the driveway until the ambulance got there.

It was the classic very close call.

I think the timing was just right for his no-show at Court to trigger a wellness check, and the GPS to show his monitor was still at home, and they got to him right around the end of the exposure period that would be about to kill him.

Wow. The timing is just incredible.

Unheard of even, for someone to try to commit suicide with a method that occurs over a fixed period of time, with a potential intervention lined up, and end up still being able to be brought back from the 'almost dead', with the potential for treatment and recovery.

The proverbial fickle finger of fate must be at it again.

Just wondering IMO if this was a "forced suicide". I keep thinking of the Godfather movie, and the old country ways. Was Fd led to this fate?

3 p.m.: Farmington and state police confirm Dulos was found in his garage suffering from carbon monoxide poisoning and that he was in critical condition.


3:30 p.m.: A LifeStar helicopter arrives at UConn Health to transport Dulos to Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx.

An ambulance, state police cruisers and a fire engine pulled up near the helicopter and a stretcher, covered with a white sheet, was pushed toward the aircraft.

They were also present when Granny got run over, then died, one or two of the children IIRC in the vehicle as it ran her over; and their beloved horse farm and all the horses they loved died in a suspicious fire...the kids have been thru a lot. Also, FD regularly subjected them to 12-14 hour water ski days, and you KNOW he was not playin' when they balked or were tired...

i think that's sorta what Aaron Hernandez was trying to pull off with his suicide, in a roundabout way. Some archaic Massachusetts law whereby if you die before all of your appeals are exhausted they vacate the underlying conviction.

The Materials Innovation and Recycling Authority, or “MIRA”, is Connecticut’s quasi-public organization responsible for the development and operation of systems and facilities that turn municipal solid waste into useful materials.
LE has video of FD and MT disposing of trash bags that mostly ended up at MIRA with JFd's blood on items in them. Everything there is shredded into tiny pieces and then incinerated, so if her "remains" were also in the bags it would be hard to find; LE spent weeks searching through piles at MIRA.

Yeah, “the savageness of the criminal justice system,” is a comment that shows Norm lacks any self awareness.

We’ve got a savage murder perpetrated by his client, and a savage attempt at character assassination by his attorney.

But Fotis is somehow a victim in all of this. I wonder if Norm truly believes a single person on earth will be swayed by the verbal diarrhea that spews from his mouth.

Also, what the hell? Is it a requirement that any male who works for him has to look ridiculous?

As Pattis speaks of "the savageness of the criminal justice system" as though FD has received anything but mercy - comfortable in a mansion he didn't pay for and eating well, my fury is renewed.

Seeing FD wrapped in blankets and knowing he's now receiving gentle care from nurses and doctors, I can only think of Jennifer as she was being beaten and/or stabbed.

If FD is brain dead, he got to just fall asleep and leave this world, while Jennifer was scared and probably fighting for her life. I hope his body gets flown off to the motherland and the children don't have to go through a funeral.

Suicide is such a tragedy and it's heartbreaking when a person is depressed and finds that life is not worth living, believing he's a burden to family but I'm not feeling much heartbreak for FD as he was cocky and arrogant so long as Pattis had him convinced he could wiggle his way out from under that mountain of damning evidence.

I know a parent's suicide is hard on children but worrying that they might one day be whisked off to Greece with the murderer of their mother would be worse.

I hope FD made peace with God before he went under and I hope his partners in crime start spilling their guts soon so Jennifer's family can bury her and properly grieve.

I’ve thought about this quite a bit and am wondering if it is even possible that they are testing what was collected at MIRA (much like the 9/11 testing) to see if there is any tissue identifiable to JFD that could prove it was her body ? Would it take this long ? Or is all hope lost?

"Stuff" collected can be and was tested, the forensic laboratory staff can analyze ANY suspect biologicals & histological and cytological testing can identify the organ type
