No its not, I would have expected to have them let the date lapse and file contempt if they thought she were still alive. However, they could be taking a tack of filing a motion for summary judgment in FDs favor under the assumption she is dead. JMO

Yes, perhaps is chances for custody are better as a widower than in a divorce case. ??

One of the articles I read stated the house loan was guaranteed by her parents. I suspect he quit paying because he would rather it go into foreclosure than have to give her half.

I may be mistaken, but the loan was for his business to build houses. To be paid back with interest after the sale of those houses. Not for the house he actually lives in. I believe that house is up for sale, too.

I may be mistaken, but the loan was for his business to build houses. To be paid back with interest after the sale of those houses. Not for the house he actually lives in. I believe that house is up for sale, too.

You have to edit and erase the content. Most people write something like "Delete" or DBM (Deleted By Me) - or just put a period in place of the deleted text. You only have a certain amount of time to edit. Past that time, you need to alert a mod for assistance.

I don't know. But from the TV interview with the firefighter, it sounds like the police asked Fire to make sure the sewer was safe to explore. Fire determined it was safe. But...sounds like nothing was found (but that is from fire, not police).

I am not an attorney but I work for many- each state has the ability to address grandparent rights - Michelle Parker’s family helped pass a law but they can’t see their grandchildren Michelle Parker's parents denied request to see grandsons with law they helped pass
But we know in the Kelsey berreth case the judge awarded Kelsey’s mom temporary custody - the GAL will represent Jennifer’s children and we can hope that all the facts come out and the best thing for the children is considered but IMO based on the past visitation rulings I’m not sure he would be granted full custody MOO

Thanks for this insight. But the GAL process is one that frankly I find unsettling and I am not 100% sure that the State of CT has the best track record in looking out for minors as I recall some extremely sad cases of abuse and true negligence by the State over the years. But I guess that sadly no State has a perfect record in looking after its children.

Thanks for this insight. But the GAL process is one that frankly I find unsettling and I am not 100% sure that the State of CT has the best track record in looking out for minors as I recall some extremely sad cases of abuse and true negligence by the State over the years. But I guess that sadly no State has a perfect record in looking after its children.

Her family is prominent and has money IMO and am confident that Jennifer’s Mom will make sure everything that can be done to safeguard the children will be done but I can never forget Josh Powell - Susan’s family tried hard as well but the court ruled visitation and he killed them horrifically - I might be tempted to cross into Canada JMO

Hate to go down this path but there is a specific process for having a person declared dead when there is no body and it takes time. Maybe that is what he and his legal team are working on? Or, would this process be driven by JD's mother? Not sure in this case as I'm not certain they are divorced.

The fact that LE has declared this a homicide investigation may have changed his legal strategy.
