I think LE has an accomplice dead to rights, an accomplice who might have left finger prints in her car, or home or who is on surveillance somewhere and who may be talking. How else would LE, know to check that one specific sewer up in Hartford?
I think that is why they felt they could detain and question FD and (girl friend, perhaps) last evening. That sequence of searching in Hartford in the late afternoon and then questioning STBX a couple hours later was not coincidental, MOO MOO.

Would he be allowed special privileges due to children being
citizens or was he planning to take them back to Greece?
I would imagine he had a long term plan that was suddenly coming
into view since it seems the walls were starting to crumble around
him.
His wife's family would no longer bankroll his business.
The lawsuits would probably force him out of business.
He would have very limited capital to re-start a business in US.
Seems that moving back to Greece would be looking very attractive about now.

The children aren't in the custody of the State of Ct and I doubt they will be. The GAL had already recommended to the court that the father have only supervised access to them. I doubt that will change especially now that they are physically in NYC.

Wonder why it took a week to get the warrant? Would love to see the document filed with the court. Wonder also if perhaps they did find something or someone in the Hartford searches yesterday that expedited the warrant approval process? Still so many questions.

I wonder what the probable cause was based on to issue the warrant. She hadn't been to that home for two years. I wonder if there will be cadaver dogs present.
Going back to her abandoned car, I wonder what position the driver left the seat position in, way back like for a tall man or where she would have left it.

Conjecture on my part based on experience but STBX had been married to a US citizen for a long enough period of time to obtain a US passport due to being married to a US citizen. He has been in the US since attending college, so had been in residence for a long period of time. Any atty's care to help out on this question?

He allegedly told Jennifer that he planned to take the kids to Greece, where she’d never find them. He doesn’t have access to the kids right at this moment, thankfully, but if the authorities haven’t taken all of his passports, he could leave since he isn’t in custody, or a currently named POI.

Just carrying on with the thought you started. Perhaps he had moved money back to Greece and had been acquiring real estate there to start a new life?

But reading the court documents it also appears he had contemplating moving to Argentina. Whether this threat to take the kids to Argentina was real or not is clearly unknown but his thoughts on the topic seemed well developed IMO. We know the mistress has ties to Argentina via her previous baby daddy and herself was from Venezuela. Perhaps she wanted to head 'home' and STBX knew he needed a fresh start? Pure conjecture but an interesting series of ideas on what he might have been planning.

From my personal experience with Greek friends family is everything to them. I think that is the only reason he's stayed in the USA and is fighting so hard for custody. I do believe his dream would be to take them back to Greece and live out their lives. Jennifer and her family were in the way of that and they had the money. jmo

The fire chief says no evidence was found in Hartford - I think perhaps they might have not shared findings with him JMO the timing on the discussion at his home with LE and the search today is not a coincidence IMO

Agreed. When Chris Watts was interviewed on his porch, his body language seemed to indicate both, to me. He was holding one arm so closely to his body that I thought it was injured. Looking at it again, it seemed that he was literally holding himself together and soothing himself. And of course, not wanting to discuss or reveal anything.

Jennifer was 5'8" according to missing posters. FD looks pretty
short and maybe not much taller than her. Just a guess though.

Regarding the cause for warrant, could be that forensics on phone
data and car gps did not match what he told LE.

Greece has had an extradition treaty with the US since 1932.
Not sure what running away to Greece would do except lengthen the time of freedom, if he is guilty.
