Don’t they still have to pony up $50,000 to get out of jail? He says he is destitute, so he doesn’t have it, and I doubt she does. I guess one of the houses he ows could be collateral, unless there are contractor’s liens on them already; plus JD’s mother is suing him for around $2mil. I am not sure he really has any collateral to get a 10% bond from a bail bondsman. My question is why is the girlfriend in the New Canaan lockup? What was she doing down there? I haven’t heard of any connection she might have in New Canaan. Maybe she cleaned up the blood in Jennifer’s house?
Charges were brought in the area of crime by the LE agency in that
county. (Fairfield county)

Hmm. If convicted on this charge , she and her daughter may very well be deported and banned from re-entering the US. That's a lot of clout.
I wonder if her daughter would rather be in Argentina with her father. She only came here a couple of years ago for school.

So wonder what happens to her kids now? The nanny keeps them until a family member steps in and comes to get them. Are there two different fathers? Sorry for all of the questions.

I know it's illegal to reside in one state and have a vehicle registered in another state, at least in California. I got pulled over by an over-eager CHP when I was commuting for a job and hadn't yet moved.

What does he have going on in Maryland that would allow him to avoid car registration in CT?

Or is this a rental car chosen to avoid detection...... Hmm

Or maybe they impounded his car a while ago, and we don't know.

I haven't heard anything about him hiring a criminal attorney. I wonder who is representing him. With his money issues would a regular (not a public defender) criminal attorney agree to represent him?

That makes sense, because they have not impounded the one parked in the Marriott parking lot and you would think that would have happened by now. I think SUV with Maryland tags is a rental.

It will be very telling if they can make bond. Also - I wonder if there is a money laundering aspect to this that he was very eager to keep hidden and they were closing in with JD and her attorneys pursuing his financial information so intently. MOO
This entire bond question is quite interesting IMO. Here you have this guy that has been pleading poverty for nearly two years, wasn't actively in development mode with Fore Group and was allegedgly stiffing people that worked for him, had lost 3 of his founding partners in the Fore Group being asked to pony up potentially a good chunk of cash for himself and his mistress. If he 'finds' the cash then the entire charade he has worked so hard to create legally over the past two years dissolves. He has a real dilemma.

My bet is he stays in jail to prove his poverty case for now but BPort is rough and he just might get desperate. I'm also curious if he assists to bail out the mistress? Or, can you imagine if he bails himself out and leaves her to fight her own fight? They aren't married so she is free to testify against him. Must be some interesting phone calls to atty's going on now. Wonder if the police have stopped the two from speaking to each other as well?

Totally agree. But I am talking about being in a crummy jail. I bet he is scared s***less. MOO.

My experience with a high-functioning narcissist of great charm and social standing is that he would be outraged, but not scared, and likely fully expecting to charm someone into paying his bail.

If he can't make bail, then some degree of reality may set in.

MOO I wonder if his current non-criminal attorney’s will drop him now that the fee gravy train is no longer working with respect to the divorce. MOO

He isn’t going to enjoy the Bridgeport lockup

You have the JD 5 children in NYC with their grandmother. You have the daughter whose mother is the mistress of STB (single mother born in Venezuela whose US immigration status is unknown) that is now in jail in New Canaan.

My bet is that we have many atty's working around the clock this weekend!

Money talks and I'm immensely grateful JD's mother has the means to have the very best of legal representation to protect the children, JD's interests, and all the funds that he might try to access.

I would think the retainer demand from any good criminal atty. would be substantial given the dynamics of this case IMO. STBX was in court recently asking JD to pay for his atty fees. I think he is in trouble on the legal front unless he comes up with some cash fast.

Sorry, I thought girlfriend had two kids, her daughter is who I'm asking about. Thanks for clarifying that.

Possibly. It feels like a 'holding charge' basically something to keep them from fleeing. The court can demand he surrender his foreign passports and if he refuses he can be held without bail. So this may be a way of getting his foreign passports. JMO[/QUOTE
