Rena Dulos, his sister who lives in their native Greece, is his closest living adult relative, and is traveling to New York with his niece Angelika after relatives got on the first flight available after being told Dulos had tried to kill himself by carbon monoxide poisoning on Tuesday.

Officers found Dulos in the garage of his home with the car running behind the closed doors and a hose attached to the tailpipe.

It is understood that he had been in the car for some time.

Dulos' new girlfriend, who has been intermittently staying with the real estate developer at his home, had left the home to go to the grocery store before he was discovered in the garage.

SOME NEW DETAILS on Fotis Dulos’s suicide attempt: probation officers tried to call him but his cell phone kept going to voicemail. His GPS showed him still in the house. Cops found him “slumped over” in the driver’s seat

-Dulos' condition is "dire." Because of that, the bond issue is on hold & the focus is allowing his family to visit Jacobi Medical Center. Had the judge revoked the bond, Pattis says that would've complicated that. @News12CT

-Instead, the state's attorney and Pattis asked a judge to rearrest him. Judge Gary White signed off and ordered Dulos' rearrest due to failure to appear in court yesterday. He also raised the bond on his murder charge by $500,000. @News12CT

-Dulos is NOT in police custody at the hospital. But there are NY officers there outside his room. Connecticut authorities still have jurisdiction though Dulos is hospitalized in New York. @News12CT

-Basically this rearrest was a legal technicality to put off the bond revocation issue and allow family to see him. @News12CT

-If Dulos recovers sufficiently enough to return to a Connecticut courtroom, the state's attorney agreed to vacate the rearrest. The motion to revoke bond would be taken up then as well. @News12CT

-I asked Pattis who is responsible for making decisions regarding Dulos' medical care. He said they're still trying to figure that out. He would not comment on whether Dulos has a living will. @News12CT

Police search Fotis Dulos home and a judge orders his re-arrest as he clings to life in a New York hospital after a suicide attempt

Jan 29, 2020

“His medical condition is dire,” Dulos lawyer Norm Pattis told Superior Court Judge Gary White in Stamford Wednesday afternoon. Pattis and Connecticut authorities agreed to allow Dulos to remain at the Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx so close family members, scheduled to arrive from Greece Wednesday evening, can visit.

Dulos, 52, of Farmington, will be guarded by New York police but will remain subject to the jurisdiction of Connecticut authorities while hospitalized in New York.

Dulos’ rearrest was a legal technicality for his failure to appear at successive hearings on the amount of his bond - on Tuesday, when he tied to take his life, and Wednesday, when he remained hospitalized and incapacitated.

There were no indications Wednesday that prospects for a recovery were good.

“The situation is grim," Pattis told reporters outside the courthouse. “Mr. Dulos is hospitalized and we are hoping that he will recover. Family members will arrive in New York from Greece tonight. And we will await word from physicians about what is reasonable to expect.”

Police execute search warrant at Dulos home as he remains in hospital

Pattis said said on Wednesday that while Dulos is not in custody, guards are posted at his hospital room door for his protection.

"We will wait for word from physicians what is reasonable to expect. We remain to connected to the proposition that Mr. Dulos is not guilty of his crimes. And hopefully he will recover so we can vindicate him of his crimes," Pattis said.

This might only interest legal hounds but in the search of Fotis Dulos' home police have sent in a “taint team” to review documents and determine if they are protected by attorney/client privilege. The process will make the search much more arduous.

"From drone footage, police are taking photos with flashes in every room at the Fotis Dulos residence. They pulled the blinds about 7 min ago and we cannot see inside anymore. They expect to be searching throughout the evening..."

North Carolina woman paid $147,000 to help Fotis Dulos post his bond

Police raced to Fotis Dulos' Farmington home Tuesday after he attempted suicide. A North Carolina woman who paid nearly $147,000 toward Dulos' bond was questioned at the house after the suicide attempt. (Mark Mirko)

Fotis Dulos was able to post the $6 million bond after he was arrested for the murder of his estranged wife because Anna Curry, a North Carolina woman, contributed $147,000 in cash and promised to pay another $272,000 more, according to records obtained by the Courant.

The bond became a critical issue this week when it became the subject of an emergency court hearing Tuesday. Instead of going to the hearing Tuesday — and possibly being sent back to jail if his bail was revoked — Dulos attempted suicide at his Farmington home, setting off a chaotic sequence of events.

The state had sought to revoke the bond because the Palmetto Surety Company, which secured it, was now saying it no longer would do so because the collateral used to secure it wasn’t sufficient. Palmetto underwrote the bond with six pieces of real estate — but two of them, including the Jefferson Crossing home — are in foreclosure and a third is significantly overvalued.

Dulos referred to Curry, a former co-worker of Dulos at a New York financial firm, as his “best friend” in the bond documents. Curry signed a $3 million promissory note and was one of two indemnitors listed on the documents. The other is a high profile private investigator from Fairfield County who initially was hired by Dulos’ lawyers. The bond package has since been questioned by the South Carolina insurance company that initially underwrote it.

FARMINGTON — A North Carolina woman who was at Fotis Dulos’ home shortly before and after his apparent suicide attempt has remained by his side at the hospital where his condition is considered “dire,” a source close to him told Hearst Connecticut Media Wednesday night.

Farmington police officers found Dulos inside a running car in his garage around noon Tuesday during a welfare check when he didn’t show up at an emergency bond hearing — where a judge could have revoked his bond and sent him back to jail.

Fotis Dulos had been on house arrest on $6 million bond for charges of murder, felony murder and kidnapping in the death and disappearance of his estranged wife, Jennifer Dulos.

A source close to Fotis Dulos said the 52-year-old went into the garage Tuesday morning after Anna Curry, a North Carolina resident and former colleague of Dulos, left his Jefferson Crossing home to get groceries.

When Curry returned, police and medics were trying to save Dulos, who was initially considered dead before a weak pulse was detected after 30 minutes of CPR.

Curry, who helped post Dulos’ bond earlier this month, appears to be a former co-worker at the New York technical consulting firm, Capgemini. Dulos worked at the firm in the early 2000s. Curry’s LinkedIn profile page indicates she worked there at the same time.

Although Curry and Dulos have not been seen together for court appearances, sources said she has supported him for months.

Woman who posted Fotis Dulos' bond remains by his side at hospital
