A Silver Alert was issued today for 45-year-old Kimberly Kasulis of Somers.

According to police, she was last seen in the area of Soapstone Mountain Trail in Ellington yesterday.

The second article states that her car was found in the area with her cellphone by it, so presumably she was on a solo hike.

During a press briefing early this afternoon, Trooper Christine Jeltema said that after getting a call Sunday to report her missing and finding her car and phone at the base of the mountain, police immediately issued a silver alert for Kasulis, as she has serious allergies and may need medication. Police would not disclose her specific allergy, citing patient privacy laws.

Family told police Kasulis frequented the hiking area, but weren’t aware of her ever getting lost on the trails before.
