Silver Alert issued for missing Phoenix man

Phoenix police issued a Silver Alert for a missing Hispanic man last seen late Friday afternoon.

Police say Raul Vega, 78, was last seen leaving the area around 24th Street and Southern Avenue while wearing blue jeans, a brown plaid shirt, white or gray tennis shoes and a silver windbreaker jacket with a red collar.

Vega is said to be driving a silver 2001 Saturn sedan with the license plate 717GGW and could appear confused and disoriented if approached.

I saw this a couple of hours ago, on my way to work. This is the 3rd silver alert around here in the past couple of days. You can definitely tell when all of the snowbirds go home in the spring. These silver alerts are not quite so prevalent in the valley...
