Silver Alert issued for 4-year-old West Haven boy missing since March

Police have issued a for a 4-year-old boy who has been missing since March and is believed to be with his father.

Police said Randal Morris, 4, is described as black, with black hair and brown eyes. He’s 4 feet tall and weighs 35 lbs. He has been missing since March 13 and is believed to be with his father Randolf Morris.

He has been missing since March and this is all the information there is? There aren't even any photos or descriptions of Randolf Morris!

What the heck? Why would this be a silver alert as opposed to an Amber Alert since they know who they think he’s with?

Here is the difference:

Connecticut State Police said there is a big difference between the two.

"Amber alert is when we have an abduction,” Grant said. “The key word is abduction."

Grant told Eyewitness News that the Silver Alert criteria is set by the individual state. In Connecticut, a Silver Alert can pertain to a missing child under 18 years old, a missing person between 18 and 65 years old who has mental health issues or someone who is over 65.
