Ah, sorry about that! I thought you were mentioning it as a possibility.

No worries. It was in reference to another post.

I'm not well-read on this case, but I ran across something in my real-world work that reminded me of this signet ring.

In the interwar period, the Jewish Hospital School of Nursing (now the Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College) had an overlaid script positioning similar to the ring, where the J is superimposed on the H. Here's an example on a graduation pin from 1934.

I don't know if rings were customary for nursing graduates, as there's more importance (at least in the historical record) placed on the pinning and caping ceremonies.

Unfortunately, what is now Goldfarb was one of several (unrelated) schools of nursing that shared the same name in the same time period. Another JHSN existed in Louisville, KY (1909 to ~1945), but their records were lost in 1937 when the Ohio River flooded. There's also the JHSN in Cincinnati, OH that (I think?) merged with the University of Cincinnati.

I don't know that this information will be of any use, but thought that I'd file it here just in case.

Hello. I just came across this missing girl this morning. Interestingly she was friends with a wife of a murderer. And there was a bank robbery by him in NJ
The fits the discription and also has the spots on her cheek.

Darlene Polizzi – The Charley Project

She does resemble the sketch. Also interesting, she has a ring hanging from a necklace. Looks like there’s a cross also hanging with it. I can’t tell if it might be this ring...

That would be crazy if she is wearing the same ring in that picture, and the ring she is wearing does look like a class ring, but it looks like that ring has a squarish setting. JMO

I would love to see a better recon of this UID so we could do a better comparison with Darlene. I do think things line up enough to submit her as a possible match.

Wow I have researched that ring for days and couldn't see it in the picture I need to keep my glasses on

Her Charley Project page says "Polizzi apparently took several clothing items with her, but she left behind the rest of her personal belongings, including her jewelry."

I wonder if this means that she left all of her jewelry behind (i.e. not planning to run off and eventually sell it) or just left behind the jewelry she wore daily (wedding ring taken off to do dishes, etc).

Right. And like a husband knows what all a wife has anyways. I will submit it if you all think it's a possibility. I'm new to this case and you all know alot more then I

LOL I couldn't tell until I cropped Darlene's ring and rotated the UID's ring. I think I need a prescription update on my glasses!

I definitely think you should submit. What little info we have does line up.

Do you know anything about Darlene's family that lived in WV? IIRC, (and it's been years since I did research) she was born in Germany (and moved to the US with her mother who had remarried a gentleman who lovingly adopted Darlene). *My memory ain't what it used to be so don't take any of this as fact*

On second thought I likely have my cases mixed-up so discount my previous post. It's too late for me to edit. Sorry!

I submitted to the case owner on NamUs. Hopefully they will reply.
