Still Missing CT - Vanessa Morales, 1, missing after mother found deceased, Ansonia, 28 Nov 2019 *arrest* #2

  • #61
In a prepared statement Friday (Dec. 13) Lt. Patrick Lynch said the homicide investigation is moving forward and that the search for Vanessa is still active.

“We are not at the point where we will be releasing any suspect or person of interest information,” Lynch said. “The investigation is continuing and we are building a strong case to bring the investigation to a successful conclusion. Thank you to all the members of the community and surrounding cities and towns who have provided information and support in our efforts to arrest the person who murdered Christine and bring baby Vanessa home.”

Thanks for the reply. I understand and I’m thinking the same just was trying to hold out hope as a father he would have a paternal instinct. As someone who had had spousal abuse I could imagine my ex harming me but not my children. That’s the hope I had .
I mean, killing the child is illogical, as she’s too young to be a threat to him and tell law enforcement what she may have seen.

But this whole thing is illogical, as it seems to have been a spur of the moment act.

Until she is found, there is hope. But at this point I’d be beyond stunned if she was recovered safe and sound.

I’m concerned that since APD is still not releasing, almost denying what was released, that they are concerned he’s not going to give up the location of V.

Normally I’d expect the child to be alive, as the grievance was against the mother.

Everything about this reeks of rage and emotion though, and the result of that is panic.

The person who killed the mother, also had her daughter. If he was caught with her, then he must be the killer.

Coupled with the fact that this child has yet to be found, then everything about this looks like a double murder to me.
I think when he took the baby he hoped to find a way to keep her safe. He didnt want to kill her at first.

But as time went on, panic set in. There was no option. If he tried to give her to someone he knew he would be reported and turned in. And if anyone saw the baby with him he would be in trouble too. How to explain that? He knew police would be coming to question him.

So he convinced himself his baby would be 'better off' buried on Hunter Mountain, since her mommy was already dead. JMO

Well this case is absolutely horrible!

What if the baby was hurt first, and the mother jumped in trying to protect her?

I honestly don’t have a clue what happened, but it reeks of a rage killing IMO.

Oh my. I haven’t thought about that possible scenario. I think this is the first I remember hearing of it. Following this train of thought - I wonder if arguments over how to raise little one were part of the differences between them.

To me, just going on - oh, idk, women’s intuition..
I would profile him as a sociopath with charming narcissistic manipulative tendencies drawing people close to him. At some point in the relationship, his weakness: inferiority - and her strength: confidence - raised his rage.

I agree. I was thinking what if.... the baby was disciplined too rough or something and was hurt, and mom jumps in and says I’m calling the police or whatever type of threat?

This person could become enraged and kills both because maybe he already has a record. Complete speculation on my part! MOO

Yeah me too. An idea just kinda circling my brain. But then I thought - One year old. A one year old. What could he have done so harmful to a one year old that she would threaten such? Besides maybe hitting or knocking baby down. Oh, this is just sad. C’mon Jose! Give it up! You’re going down anyway. You know it. Save your sorry ass while you’re awaiting trial. County jail ain’t no party. Awaiting classification can take forever. It’s a long long long road. Let’s see how tough you think you are then. Return Vanessa to her family. Please.

I just can NOT fathom why anyone would hurt an innocent child! I know we see it time and again, but I will NEVER understand it!

Why not just leave the baby?
Unless... the baby is alive and well with someone else OR
The baby was already injured OR
I hate thinking this, but he thought there may be some of his DNA on the baby?
MOO of course!

Thanks @MassGuy that’s what I’m hoping for

We can’t fathom it because we are not monsters. Unfortunately however, those monsters walk amongst us - or used to before incarceration or death - like Josh Powell, Christian Longo, Tim Jones...and on and on. The list is extensive.

None of it makes sense - and be grateful it doesn’t. Unfortunately someone willing to do what he did to CH is likely willing to hurt their child, too.

Yeah. Killing an innocent mother is terrible, but as bad as that is, killing a little 1-year-old girl is worse. Law enforcement may have to figure out her location on their own.

yes.... appears to be a total crime of passion..... hopefully only one... but as time goes on, it’s worrisome that the beautiful, totally innocent little one in the mix, may also have fallen victim!

I see pictures of where CH lived, but I can't tell if it is a single family dwelling or a duplex, etc. Can anyone tell me? Thnx

Single family. It was listed as a "studio" in the rental ad, but it's still a stand-alone property. I'll see if I can find the ad.
