Missing woman believed to be with murder suspect

A missing woman is believed to be in the company of murder suspect Benjamin Morales.

According to police, 31-year-old Virgen Figueroa was last seen by family members Feb. 4.

Figueroa is described as 4 feet 8 inches tall, 180 pounds with short brown hair. She is said to have “Jaunito” tattooed on her hand.

Police said Figueroa was last seen wearing black pajamas.

She is believed to be with Morales who has an outstanding warrant for the murder of Alice Marie Figueroa.

Morales is considered to be armed and dangerous.

As New Britain police continued to search Thursday for a suspected killer and a woman believed to be with him, they revealed more information about the two’s relationship.

Virgen Maria Figueroa, 31, and Benjamin Morales, 42, have recently been in a dating relationship, Lt. Adam Rembisz said. Although she had the same last name, Figueroa is not related to the woman Morales is suspected of killing on Monday, Alice Marie Figueroa, the mother of his two children, he said.

Police are concerned about the well-being of Virgen Maria Figueroa “due to recent actions of Morales,” Rembisz said. They have no evidence that she was kidnapped, however, he said.

On Thursday, officers served arrest warrants to 48-year-old Ramon Morales, and 18-year-old Odalys Morales, both of New Britain. Ramon and Odalys are related to the Benjamin Morales, and officers believe they misled police and/or provided assistance to him.

Odalys was charged with Interfering with police, while Ramon was charged with Hindering Prosecution and Interfering. Odalys was held overnight on a $100,000.00 bond, and Ramon was a held on a $250,000.00 bond.

Both Ramon and Odalys appeared in court Friday. Their warrants are sealed by a judicial order.
