* * * Custody Hearing 26 Mar 2010, 11am, Phoenix * * *

The child's mother, Elizabeth Johnson, refused to answer any questions from Judge Michael McVey or McQueary's attorney about where Gabriel is. She began to cry on the stand when McVey asked who she gave the boy to and whether she has any information about Gabriel's safety.

This makes me so sad. Why cry??? She did this. She brought it on herself. I'm hoping she's just crying because of the stress/pressure and not because she feels guilty for something she did or maybe she is regretting giving Gabriel to total strangers or just seeing Logan there. She makes me feel physically ill.

Hopefully you're right Kappy! It's tears of defeat!

I just re-watched the short video on KPHO...she had that "cocky walk" about her and answered more of the reporters questions outside the courtroom. Cocky response as well... Hey, maybe we need to have the reporters question her rather than an attorney!

According to the KPHO reporter, EJ cried in court...

Well cry me a river...and tell us where Gabriel is! Any sympathy I had for her is now completely gone. I hope they keep her in jail and keep Gabriel's picture and story in the news until someone either turns him over or he's old enough to figure it out himself. Whoever has him can't shelter him from all media for 14 years. I'd love to see huge billboards all over the state of Texas with Gabriel's face on them....for years if need be.

:praying:

As for EJ crying :boohoo: there's no way she's going to last...I feel it in my bones...she's going to talk to someone....she just IS!

I hope she is starting to crack --if she is everyone who knows her should now try to talk some sense into her

I responded before I watched the video.....I think she wants to talk....SHe is wore down...But, I think Lm will find G before then.

I'm thinking she is only crying for herself because SHE alone knows what she really did with Gabriel.

EJ could very well be crying at the fact that she is facing the very real possibility (if Gabriel is dead) of spending the rest of her life in prison or being put to death.

She's having a hard time looking at Logan during his testimony. If she gave Gabriel away to spite Logan, you would think she would have a more 'in your face' attitude with him. She does a whole lotta crying during and in between hers. I also think she's crying for herself because she knows there is no way out of this, ever.

She looks like she could be close to her breaking point. I sure hope so.

The grand jury indicted her on domestic violence along with the kidnapping etc?

Who is the big man in the back, shaking his head?

  • #132
Well her lip quivered a bit but it sure wasn't any boo-hooing. No tears. Very cold hearted when asked where Gabe was etc.

Mostly she just looks snotty.

ETA: Okay there were a 3 or 4 tears for about 30 seconds

Who is the big man in the back, shaking his head?

I think his name is Marc Palmer. You can see him post on Gabe's FB. He manages a search foundation whose name is escaping me. It *might* be Jessica's Law?

Thanks. I think I know who he is now.

She cried the first time she sat down from testifying, then the second time on the stand. You can't see much because she turns from the camera. She was definitely s#i&%@#g her pants.

Poor Logan looked like he was about to explode.

  • #136
Okay I just caught the brief boo hoo. That was... cute...

  • #137
Whoa! I gotta go to the PL. lol.

  • #138
Just watched the videos....:furious::furious::furious:

Evil Elizabeth....YOU are not the victim, here! YOU are the inmate!!

Didn't know the GJ also handed down an indictment for domestic violence. :dance:

Dad wins sole custody of missing 'Baby Gabriel'
March 26, 2010 - 3:20PM

“I’m expressing sadness not only for my client, but his son,” Mehrens said. “I had to do my job and ask her what she did with the baby and where it’s at. The judge should find her in contempt because she’s already violated I don’t know how many court orders.”

Johnson’s attorney, Mitchell Cohen, said he expected the judge to award custody to McQueary but doesn’t expect McVey to find Johnson in contempt of court, citing her constitutional right to invoke the 5th Amendment.

McQueary’s father, Frank McQueary said after the hearing, “It’s a shame the judge is putting Elizabeth Johnson’s rights before the safety of the child. The safety of the child is paramount, and the attorneys are doing their job of protecting Elizabeth’s rights, but they are putting the health, safety and welfare of the child at risk.”
