MISSING PERSON ALERT
German national Karl-Heinz WEISS, 69 years old, grey/white hair, glasses, mustache, 168 cm height. He has come to Cyprus as a tourist and has been missing from his hotel since 27 January 2020 in the evening. He was wearing Chinos and a red sweater. There is no indication to where he might have gone and his relatives are very worried. He does not speak any English or Greek. Please, contact the nearest police station, the German Embassy or his relatives at [email protected] if you see him! If you could share this post, it would increase the chances of finding him. MISSING person - HAVE YOU SEEN THIS MAN?

German citizen Karl-Heinz WEISS, 69 years, gray / white hair, mustache, 168 cm tall. He is wearing glasses, but he may also have lost the glasses. He only speaks the German language, is dependent on medication and is probably disoriented.

Our father traveled to Cyprus as a tourist and was last seen on January 27th at 8:00 p.m. in his Hotel Riverside Garden Resort in in Alsancak in the north. He was wearing cream-colored pants, a red sweater, and black athletic shoes. On the evening of January 27th at 8:00 pm he said goodbye to his tour group and went to his hotel room. There is no confirmed indication of where he might have gone. However, we have received a lot of information from residents in the north. After unconfirmed reports, Karl-Heinz was seen in Alsancak Municipality, by the lake in the small town Malatya and near the Tempo supermarket in Karaoğlanoğlu.

It is possible that Karl Heinz is now in southern Cyprus, he had his local German passport with him. We are completely at a loss about his disappearance

So a month missing already?!

Either he planned to slip away or I'm leaning towards accident / alcohol / water.

Very strange and hope he is found and his family can at least know.

Whatever happened to “Kalli?”

Despite searches by police and Turkey's specialist search and rescue organisaition Akut, no trace of the 69-year-old retired car parts salesman, known as "Kalli" to friends and family, has been found. Now the missing man's stepson, L. L., has returned to North Cyprus to offer a 1,000 euros reward in a fresh attempt to solve the mystery and bring an end to the despair of his mother and the rest of the family.

That evening, he had had a meal with his tour friends in the hotel at about 8pm, and said goodnight to his hotel room neighbour. "There are eye witness accounts of him walking on Alsancak's Ankara Caddesi at 9.40pm. We have been informed that Mr Weiss was last seen on walking past the Acmenya restaurant at 10.18pm. He was wearing a red top and white trousers. This is the last time that he was actually seen,' she said. Mr Laufer claims that the security camera system at Riverside was not working and therefore they could not tell exactly when Mr Weiss left. Mr Laufer believes his father-in-law took a circular route, turning east out of the Riverside and heading towards the centre of Alsancak, through the village, past Atakara supermarket and back up towards his hotel. Crucially, he was captured on a traffic camera, just after the Acmenya restaurant, where he pauses for a moment and appears to throw something in a bin.

My heart really goes out to his family. To have your loved-one not only missing but during their vacation in a foreign country . I hope answers come soon, particularly that he is located safe.
