Dad's rendition is better than Joe Cocker's - for a baby.

^ prompted me to wiki and imdb for a trip down memory lane and saw a comment:
"Seriously. Not only is this guy ugly, grubby and has the most uncouth stage presence, but his voice sounds like dirty water gurgling from a rusty drainpipe." LOL.

Joe Cocker may or may not have been ugly and grubby but can't argue about his voice.
Saw him in concert (~1974?), hard to forget his gritty, raspy distinctive delivery.

His song that they used as The Wonder Years theme song reminds me of my Grandma. She loved that song and sang it at the top of her lungs. Miss my Grandma and hope she and Mom are together now.
