Dan Rassier: Former POI **Wrongly accused**

The FBI, the BCA, Local LE, and the family and the public are behind this case. The Wetterlings and the Rassiers have pleaded to have DR cleared, their answer is they can't do that. With all of the pressure and agencies involved I can't believe DR's entire life will be a named POI based on "convenience".

I would say it's more like LE "won't" clear him, not that they can't. All that stuff about a gag order, waiting for technology, etc, is just convenience for Stearns County to lean on.

I get what you're saying Sas😉 Still, couldn't & wouldn't..very distinct difference between the two.
And keep in mind, no disrespect what so ever...(feel like I need to throw this *disclaimer* in each & every time a post could be taken offensively ) just because some of us haven't posted 30 thousand posts here on Websleuths or been a member for years doesn't mean we haven't followed this case from the very beginning, along with many ideas/theories that have been posted.
Personally, I had been a long time lurker before ever joining. So happy I did, though, as I love everything about WS! I have really enjoyed reading other's POV/perspectives on my pet cases & have formed some great WS buddies🤘

Edited to add; I'm not at all trying to split hairs here regarding terminology. I know LE in general any where, especially when issuing statements in cases such as this, choose their words very carefully.

I've thought long and hard about how we have to deal with a person like DR. Lets face it guys, he knows, but he aint talkin. Its due time to make a deal, a lifetime tracking device with no prison time served. DR has proven he can be a valuable asset to society (recent teacher of the year). We need a confession and we need it now.

Sas! You are so convinced that it is DR and not DH! So interesting as it seems like there is more evidence to implicate DH. Why do you feel so convinced that it is DR.

I'm to the point that I could care less who did it, I just want this thing solved and Jacob's remains returned to his family.

Sanner eliminated Heinrich from the scene in 2004 via an interview with Cnn. We didn't know they had found Heinrich and took his tires and shoes 2 months after the kidnapping until last year. But this man was important to find and finally get a confirmation for Jared. There is one more loop coming folks, and its a boat-load of information.

So you're saying that Heinrich was not even on the scene as per Sanner's 2004 CNN interview? If so, then why release photos of Heinrich's shoe + tire prints this past year?

In my opinion its not my opinion. This is starting to become common sense.

Common sense tells me:


DR:
1. DR is too tall to be the abductor.
2. DR has a noticeable lisp.
3. Jacob's scent ended in the middle of the driveway. His last known footprint indicates most plausibly he was stepping into a vehicle.
4. DR has no record of pedophilia or child abuse, etc. despite being a music teacher for umpteen years
5. DR's statement of a vehicle with lights close together was confirmed by the release of pictures of DJH's vehicle by LE.
6. LE deleted the 911 call by DR yet he admitted that LE told him he sounded "way too nervous". Apparently he didn't even know they deleted it but assumed it was still a matter of record and that assumption tells me he wasn't afraid of the 911 call being used against him.
7. He doesn't fit the profile of a sexual predator or abductor.
8. M.O.....what M.O? It has been suggested long ago that he copied the M.O. of Jared's abductor.....but I seriously doubt that.

DJH:
1. His height although much shorter than 5'10" described by the boys....wore boots....he is much closer physically to the description given by the boys.
2. Has a raspy voice(apparently when excited)....and as described by Jared as well as the Paynesville victims(not proven that DJH was the perp...but telling nonetheless)
3. Jacob's scent ending in the middle of the driveway.......Jacob's last footprint and DJH's footprint are both there in that location.
4. DJH has a long history of obsession with 11-12 year old boys as we now know.
5. DJH's vehicle was small with lights close together.
6. 911 call.....DR made this after the fact....seeing LE looking at the woodpile with flashlights. We don't know if he mentioned to Officer Bechtold seeing a small dark car with headlights close together traverse his driveway but he did make the statement a day later....and I would assume this is confirmed by the release of DJH's car photos this past year.
7. Sexual predator and abductor: DJH has been proven to be both at least by the evidence of Jared's case. Whether or not he's responsible for the Paynesville cases remains to be seen.
8. M.O. VERY similar to Jared's abduction.

I understand the suspicion of DR given the circumstances.....but IMHO....given what we know....my common sense tells me that the culprit most likely lies in the world of DJH and not DR.

Yes, I do think LE has figured out who it is....and it's not DR. I don't buy the Nielson sweeps argument (proposed by others on this WS site). The 2nd sketch created after Jared's abduction(the one with the bushy eyebrows, the cap, the downturned mouth, the beady nostrils, the fat neck, the 'stick out' ears....it's a dead ringer for the 1990 photo of DJH. And that's all I have to say.

We already know the sketch would match Jared's abduction because there is the DNA evidence. But there is no sketch of Jacob's abductor.

The boots are in question because of the tennis shoe prints of DH. But the boys may not have been correct about boots.

Excellent points! You are correct that the sketch of Jared's abductor fits his situation....but there is no sketch of Jacob's abductor...especially since Jacob's abductor was wearing a "mask". And your point regarding the boots versus the tennis shoes is not lost on me. I had noticed that but was unable to correct that in my post. The prints shown in the latest LE releases were of tennis shoes...I think Addidas but not sure. So I am wrong in that regard. DJH would not have been wearing boots....but where did that come from? It's an old post or case info...not sure which. Whatever it may be...it could be a clue. However...LE made the conjecture that Jared's abductor could be Jacob's abductor and thus released the image of the 2nd sketch to the public-which implies a connection.

No black boots found in heinrichs home in 90 or in 2015. DR's home was searched 5 days after the abduction but all searches are gagged so we dont know. Not many people care to know about the gag order besides a select few.
