Abby Lee Miller is back for another season of Dance Moms. Now with a new title, Dance Moms: Resurrection is looking back at Abby’s cancer diagnosis and her return to Pittsburgh with the Abby Lee Dance Company.

If you keep up with Dance Moms news, you probably know that Abby has been through a lot over the past year. On March 27, 2018, she was released from prison after serving eight months for bankruptcy fraud. She completed her sentence in a halfway house, but left for an emergency spinal surgery in April. After the 10-hour procedure, she was diagnosed with a form of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma called Burkitt lymphoma. In season 8, we see that she’s now using a wheelchair and wearing a wig.

“Everyone counted me out. I had to fight to get back here,” she said in a trailer for the upcoming season. “We’re back, and whoever counted us out can’t count.”

It is good Abbey Lee has an income again but I’m not really a fan of the show. The limited scenes I have watched in the past have left me concerned for the mental wellbeing of the young dancers as they are put in dramatic and extremely stressful pressurised situations and I don’t think it is appropriate as entertainment.

IMO, 98% is scripted for TV and the ratings it achieved.

The proof is in the success of the participants that went on to achieve independent success -- especially Maddie Z.

My friend’s 27 year old son has Non Hodgkin Lymphoma and they are told there is no cure for it currently-maybe Abby has the much more treatable Hodgkins?

Earlier, it was reported that the form Abby has is Burkitts lymphoma. I had a late friend that passed after less than 2 years diagnosis of Burkitts. It's very treatable in children, but rarely treated successfully/long term in adults. I guess only time will tell....
