According to the new indictment:

"DANKA ILIC (2) WAS HIT BY A CAR,

THEN Suffocated IN THE BACK SEAT!

These are the details from the indictment against two 'Vodovod' workers:

Two years of the mystery of the girl's disappearance and murder.

As stated in the indictment,
Srđan J. and Dejan D. while returning from the work task they had completed, moving through Banjski Polje in a white Fiat Panda driven by Srđan J., while D. was the passenger,
hit a girl Danka Ilić,
as a result of which she fell from the right side of the vehicle.

As suspected,
Dejan D. noticed this and informed J.

They then agreed to remove the child's body from the road,
kill her if she was alive,
and hide the body so that they would not be discovered.
They wanted to avoid being prosecuted for the traffic accident
- it is stated in the indictment against the defendants.

They agreed to leave the child's body in a wild landfill,
they threw the body there and drove the car to PUC 'Vodovod'
- it is stated in the indictment."

Yeah - that is in keeping with a certain countries regard for human life. I'd want them killed slowly... painfully.

It seems odd to me that there was no DNA found in the car. On the other hand though, Serbia probably doesn't have the advanced technology available in countries such as the United States and because of that they missed it.

This is the homepage of a Forensic testing lab in Serbia:
Advanced technology is not just only available in the US.

Re: DNA, I think it is possible that the child was placed in a bag or similar before being lifted to the car - moreso for hiding etc reasons than actual worry about DNA. It is a bit funky they found no evidence whatsoever, but IIRC, there was also a time gap between when it all happened and when they examined the car.

Serbia is doing just fine. The world outside the US exists.
