Search continues for missing bushwalker Daryl Fong in Tasmania's Mount Field National Park
The search for a bushwalker in Tasmania's Mount Field National Park is continuing into its third day, after a night of gale force winds and snow "knee to waist deep".
Daryl Fong, 30, had been described as an "avid photographer" who went on a day hike to take photos in the national park, a bit over an hour's drive north-west of Hobart.
Tasmania Police believe Mr Fong camped in his white Subaru at Lake Dobson car park on Friday night. He planned to complete the Tarn Shelf Circuit, a 12km, grade 3 walk which takes in a series of small glacial lakes.
Inspector Luke Horne told ABC Tasmania Mornings Mr Fong was last heard from at 3am on Sunday, when he texted his flatmate indicating he had become delayed and was planning to seek shelter overnight.
"From there, no-one has heard from Daryl," Inspector Horne said.
