David Cassidy arrested for DUI in Florida

I read the CNN article above. I don't think he's quite where he needs to be in this recovery journey, re: talking a lot about how wonderful he is, how moral he is, how many people he's helped, how he has an allergy to alcohol and how he didn't start drinking until 2002.

All of the above may be true, but all of the above are statements that sort of mitigate responsibility IMO. In my experience, when people are really ready to stop drinking, those sort of statements are no longer part of the equation.

Hope I'm wrong. I wish him well.
It's a start in the right direction to acknowledge the problem. It may be genetic, it runs in his family. His father Jack had alcohol problems.

P.S. He was my teen idol too! Loved the long hair and his face and voice. "I Think I Love You" was my ringtone for awhile.

Oh my, he looks horrible. I remember when he was young, talented and handsome.

David Cassidy copped a plea in his felony drunk driving case in NY, and got the charge reduced to misdemeanor DWI.

Cassidy was in court Wednesday to enter a guilty plea. Under the terms of the deal he has to complete 50 hours of community service and have an ignition interlock installed on his car. He's already completed an alcohol treatment program, but in November the judge will decide if he needs more ... according to the D.A.

Hey David it's time to care of your addctions.

And if he can't, then he should stop driving while under the influence or Drunk.
A car can be a lethal weapon to everyone, the driver and whomever he might hit...
This is so sad.
I hope he gets the HELP that he needs, and I hope that he will CONTINUE to get help.
Clearly his addictions, or what have you, is beyond him.
I would hope that it would be something other than he doesn't care.
If he doesn't care about himself that is sad, but if he doesn't care about others, well, that's Horrible!!
He needs help.
And he needs to realize that he could KILL someone the next time. And he needs to STOP DRIVING!!!
It's sad, just sad...
IMOO.

And if this is true that witnesses saw him stop to cover his tags after the accident...
That is Horrible!
