Oh, I think we all realize he's older---we're ALL older.

They didn't lose Michael Anthony because of David's return, they lost Michael Anthony because Eddies son Wolfgang is taking his place.

DK, I'm surprised you even know who Van Halen is, LOL!!!
I know they didn't lose him BECAUSE of DLR, it was just bad timing. Anthony made Eddie mad by working with Hagar on some stuff, which added to the problems.

I am a 34 year old radio DJ who bought 1984 IN 1984, just FYI. So yeah, I know who they are.

Well I knew you posted before that you were a radio DJ, but I always assumed that it was for some religious talk station---sorry. And yes, I know what they say about assuming.....

I'm so excited that DLR is joining them again, although I will miss Michael Anthony. Hubby and I saw the first show of the reunion tour with Sammy Hagar in 2004 (Greensboro, NC). We had 4th row seats, and also got to see them practice (1st row). We are big Van Halen fans. :woohoo:

Hubby says we'll have first row seats for this show!

I prefer Sammy over DLR...

DLR is an entertainer more than a rock and roller. I don't think he will be as entertaining at his age. We will see...

Although, it will be interesting to see Wolfgang in the band.

I don't know about him being more of an entertainer than a rock and roller---the best Van Halen songs were from the original Van Halen, IMO. I don't know how old he is, but the Rolling Stones just finished a tour and they kicked butt, and I think they're older than him. I'd pay $$$ to go see them.

VH isn't as good as Metallica, my favorite band, however. But they're pretty good. Hope Metallica makes the HOF soon. :slap:

Isn't Roth a bit old for all this, he was looking old last time I saw him...and that was back in the 80's...

i THINK he's close to the same age as Eddie & others in the band...i think it's kinda cool ... the original band...Eddie Van Halen is amazing on the guitar, & then to have Roth back?....sounds good to me, lol......

I would love to see VH in concert! I hope they come to Calgary.

And DLR, well, I always loved that guy - you could tell that was a guy who LOVED his life!

:woohoo: I'll be buying tickets! Only saw VH once, and it was with Sammy. Great show, I'm sure this one with DLR will be great, too.

I can't stand him as a man, but he was a good leader singer way back when...

IMO

I agree. I think they're all broke and since the band never worked with any other singer, they are forced to deal with one another to make some bucks.
