Fire Victims Called 911 3 Times in 10 Hours Before Fatal Blaze
Reports of the fatal housefire came in at about 5:30 a.m., or about 30 minutes after police stopped looking for Simpson. Several 911 calls reported the fire, including one believed to have come from Cunningham.----------------------
Man charged with starting deadly fire that killed ex has history of domestic violence cases by multiple victims
Investigators determined that the fire was intentionally set, and MPD Chief Pamela Smith confirmed the fire stemmed from a domestic violence incident involving Simpson, who had been in a romantic relationship with Cunningham and previously lived at the home.

“It is clearly a case of domestic violence where three people lost their lives over a senseless interpersonal conflict,” Chief Smith said at a press conference Monday.
He started no less than 3 fires over the course of the evening and into the wee hours. Each time LE failed to take him into custody, even upon him being pointed out by one of the victims across the street. He kept coming back until he was successful in killing not only his ex, but two neighbors in her building.
