thanks for bringing forward the map link buggsmom :)

It has been a while since I looked at it and I see a lot more info has been added since I last checked it out. I thought I had seen one but it must have been from earlier in teh case before much of the stuff on it now was known. Props to the mapmaker!

I think I will spend a bit of time looking at it this evening and brainstorming search locations, areas where flyers would be good to have prominently displayed

Tatum got around. He worked at the shelter, he spent time inthat neighborhood, he had several residences and could have been with Relisha in any of those neighborhoods, the hotels etc.

I was really impressed with efforts being made by our WS members to try to track down locations where it would be good to try to get flyers out to.

I may have to join in on that effort just to feel like I am doing SOMETHING.

You are welcome! It's a great map with awesome little icons to help figure out where you are and what you are looking at!! I think a community canvasing of the flyer would be a great way to keep her picture and information out there. Where to start is a bit overwhelming (zooming in) as I'm not from the area. But I'm sure there are some local 'hot spots' that get lots of (foot/car) traffic and possibly some businesses that would post the flyer in their window. Every little bit helps!

I had the broadcast up from 7- 9:02 tonight just in case and didn't hear a thing. It said: Waiting for Host to Call In. I closed the window.

He must have started late. I will review it later to see if anything useful was talked about, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

Not sure what time the show started...I had it open in my browser with nothing for a while, and at some point, after walking my dog, I came back in and the show was playing. Probably about 8-8:30, maybe 9ish. Don't know the exact time, but it's still up on the BTR site, as of this post.

I watched the news show from D.C. Fox station about the homeless center at D.C. General. Not much new. Children playing outside on school nights till 2 a.m., drugs, scabies, mice, m.j. being smelled by reporters as they stood outside. No place for 300 kids to play outside. Very sad, but nothing we didn't expect from what we've read.

I wish we knew about his personal habits. Did he smoke? Did he drink? Did he have a corner bar he frequented? Did he buy lottery tickets? Places like that in the areas he frequented would be good places to get flyers up. Corner grocer, neighborhood qwik mart, etc

Here is the link for the WUSA9 Special Report on living conditions in the DC General Shelter:

http://www.myfoxdc.com/video?autoStart=true&topVideoCatNo=default&clipId=10153573#axzz31YxMy55M

Apparently, some of the stories/rumors we have heard are true. Possible open-air drug transactions, children outside until almost 2:00 a.m., mice, lack of heat and other poor conditions/behaviors continue.

Where are you, sweet girl? So many people love you and want to bring you home.

Reminder:

Radio discussion is during, and for a time after, the show and is confined to this thread:Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community

:tyou: Kimster! I had NO idea that thread existed until just now! :blushing:

I think I may not have been the only :websleuther: out of the loop, but perhaps the only one willing to admit it publicly :thud:

:seeya: soon!

I keep thinking about the SY baptism certificate that she posted.

I'm new here at WS and this is the first case that I've followed, so could some of you that have followed other cases answer these questions for me?

Is it possible that SY was baptized in order to appeal to a jury and sway them in her favor? In other missing children's cases that you've followed, has it been common for parents suspected of a crime to suddenly push to make themselves appear to be religious? Or, have they given testimony from a "I didn't know any better, but God is in my life now, and I've changed!" angle?

TIA

Ok - so I have been reviewing the fabulous map with the details and keep coming back to a question I know we have gone over and over....but I think I need to some input and clarification.

-Tatum leaves work abruptly - he knows that LE is now onto him and they are looking for him - sure that the ***** is about to hit the fan.
-He leaves work - goes all the way to Richmond and back. (Round trip is 3hrs 25 minutes with NO stops.)
-Red Roof Inn can be accessed easily from either route using 95 or 301. It is directly in the path of either route to the DC area.
-Sounds feasible as to the reason they met at the RRI that evening. KT had RL meet him in the parking lot of the RRI (left his car) they jumped onto 95 or 301 directly from there, went down to Richmond to handle whatever needed to be taken care of, or disposed of.
-In the meantime, AT is calling KT asking what is happening. LE is contacting her, child is missing....she is questioning him.
-He tells her he cannot talk about on the phone and to meet him at the RRI in Oxon Hill.
-She is concerned with safety and is very unsure about him at this point -but he is still her husband of 20+years. She takes a few people with her. They meet, he cons her telling her its nothing, etc. But says he thinks they should stay there through the night as LE might be coming to the house. She becomes even more concerned, more questions, then turns a hysterical claiming she is calling LE.
-He kills her
-RL takes the others home. KT calls him in the middle of the night and tells him he needs a ride home - possibly admits to what he has done. RL picks him up...drops him at Southern Ave metro.

This makes a lot of sense. To me at least.
Why do I feel like we ruled out Richmond of having any real significance in earlier threads?

Do we know what time they checked in at the RRInn.?PrivateEye i always wondered about the Richmond trip as well.it would be interesting to see how many hours between the time he left work and the time they checked in at the hotel....

"According to court documents, Tatum and his wife checked into room 132 the Red Roof about 10:00 on the evening of March 19th. The document says "there were three other witnesses." Tatum, his wife, and the three others "are all captured on numerous video cameras," the court papers say.

The police affidavit says "over an our later, all three witnesses leave in a vehicle." Police say they identified those witnesses who reported after they left, the victim, "Andrea Tatum and the Defendant, Kahlil Tatum are the only people left in the room."

The documents say at about 5:40 in the morning on March 20th, "one of the witnesses returned," and when Tatum answered the door to room 132, the witness told police "that he observed the decedent lying on the bed in the same manner police eventually found her deceased."
