Andrea Tatum’s murder remains as much a mystery as Relisha Rudd’s disappearance

Relisha was last seen days later at a hotel across the street, according to law enforcement sources. On March 1, Relisha walked past the fountain in front of the Days Inn on New York Avenue, along the cream-colored tile in lobby and into a room with Tatum. It is unclear whether she ever walked out. Investigators searched the room extensively and released this detail: The day after Tatum checked into the hotel, he purchased a box of 42-gallon trash bags and visited Kenilworth Park and Aquatic Gardens.

Interesting ! So there was no ' smoking gun' tying KT to her murder? In wondering about little Relisha, I have to say, I didn't give much thought to this woman. I'm sorry Andrea But I did assume the case would be closed/ solved and KT the presumed perp. So.... does this mean that KT is not the only logical perp in Relisha's disappearance? And , honestly , could the two cases be completely UNRELATED? I know that's a coincidence and a stretch , but ,, what a head scratcher.

The same gun was used on Andrea and Khalil. Khalil is on video with Relisha the last time she was ever seen. They are not unrelated. Someone else might be involved, but they are certainly related. Opinion!

I haven't posted on Relisha's thread before, but have been following the case and these threads. Such a sad fate for such a sweet little girl. Praying she is found and can be put to rest.

Thank you to Petula Dvorak for a sensitive story, letting her readers know that Relisha is not forgotten, that in the midst of summer's lush beauty the impact of Relisha's disappearance is still rippling through the community.

Few things in the District are as bizarre and wonderful as the exotic lotus blossoms of Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens, flowers of mythical power in ancient cultures that rise improbably from a mucky Washington swamp every July.

They are towering and leggy, about six feet tall, glowing pink and yellow, like something from another world.
And to many folks, they whisper just one word this year: “Relisha.”
