Investigators are set to begin a "series" of new searches for Relisha Rudd, the Metropolitan Police Department announced...

The source, who works for MPD, said investigators would search in the area of Montana Avenue and Bladensburg Road NE, specifically near a stalled construction site.

Grrrrrr!!!! This guy had a LOT of free time. He could have dumped her. I'm so angry with Relisha's family too! There's a special place in you-know-where for Kahlil Tatum.

So, they pretty solidly believe she was buried or dumped in the trash. Well, that's quite disheartening. I know it is the likelihood. I just want her to be found, even if she is no longer with us. She deserves to lay in a place that displays her name. Not a trash heap.

Still quite confused why Tatum killed everyone when the heat was on. Guess he didnt want wife to have to go through it and couldnt stand the thought of jail. I dont know. Its all so strange. one thing I am sure of--- someone else other than those 2 knows what happened!

This story has been updated. Sadly, officials say they did not find anything new.

I'm confused. Another story, posted in Relisha's Media Thread, states volunteer divers did find something:

So, did the volunteer search trigger the "official searches" - which did not find anything further? Or do I have the timeline wrong?

I have nothing to back this up on but I think killing the wife was not planned. I believe they had a fight and/ or possibly she said she would expose him for taking Relisha and he killed her to shut her up and shortly after realized he was not going to get away and took his life. I don't think he killed his wife to spare her going through anything.

I think many of us who've followed this case from day one believe that the hotel meeting is a huge key to what happened to Relisha, and why Tatum killed Andrea, himself, and possibly Relisha.

Kimi, this was back in June, and I think they concluded that this wasn't evidence. That was a water search and this week, it was more of a land search (thinking that Tatum buried Relisha). Burying her or the dumpster theory makes more sense to me, simply b/c of his purchases of lime, shovel, and garbage bags. I don't think he would buy those then put her in the water, but JMOO.

I am just so thankful they are still searching and so many people are involved. This child has not been forgotten!!!!

How I wish Relisha could have helped serve a special dinner, opened a stocking, unwrapped gifts, shared happiness with her baby brothers, and been able to snuggle under a cloud soft blanket to sleep in her own room, dreaming her own dreams tonight.
How I wish those who should have been there for her, but weren't, look at the empty spaces at their table tonight, and see reflected the coldness and emptiness of their own hearts.
