So if we put aside the go cart injury, we have "we're going through some stuff with Phillip". Was his room being ransacked?

Just to add something a little crazy about that is that SS fathers name is Philip as well.

I'm late to this. I heard some of the horrific details last night and I am reading to catch up. What I can't figure out is the housekeeper staying over and her husband's actions (or non-actions). There are logical inconsistencies.

SS's voice mail message to NG asked her to notify Vera's husband that Vera was staying over. Why wouldn't SS have called the husband directly? If Vera was not their regular housekeeper, it makes sense that SS would not know her husband's phone number. But couldn't Vera have told him?

So when the husband says SS called him after his knocks on the front door were unanswered and he'd gone around the house to another door, how did SS have his cell number so quickly?

Why wasn't the housekeeper's husband alarmed when she didn't arrive home, esp. since NG says Vera planned to be done by 3pm? Why wouldn't he have called her employer NG or gone to the house Wednesday evening. It seems odd that he would wait patiently until the next morning. The most plausible scenario is that perhaps he works overnight. Otherwise, it's unusual.

I've read that the Vera's cell phone battery was dead and she did not have a charger, so she could not call him for her cell. Why wouldn't the Vera have used a house phone or borrowed a family member's cell? Or given SS the number and asked him to call her husband directly?

Someone upthread mentioned a suspicion that Vera's husband told LE about going to the house Thursday morning in case he needed to explain his presence. I am perplexed about him.

I wondered those things, as well. And all I could come up with, if the account is true, is that perhaps she didn't know her husband's cell phone number. I know my husband's, but I also know that I don't give it a second thought. I never dial his number, only call him from my favorites, or recent call, list.

Do you or any other poster, have a link please regarding NG saying SS told her Amy was going out that evening? I have never read that any where but here in the thread. Thanks in advance.

In this link

http://abcnews.go.com/US/mansion-fire-mysterious-voicemail-latest-clue-dc-blaze/story?id=31121535

The voice Mail is played and SS says:
Amy is in bed sick tonight and she was sick this afternoon.

You have stated above that she was in bed all day Wednesday but he didn't say that. I'm sorry if this sounds offensive as it certainly is not meant to be but these facts as we know them are important and to change them, even slightly, makes a big difference to a scenario.

Here is one link stating that SS told NG that Amy had plans to go out: http://www.foxnews.com/us/2015/05/1...eeper-not-to-visit-before-being-killed-in-dc/

Unless SS was told to make that call and say those things...as part of this "code."

Using imagination here and NO!FACTS...suppose the plan was...once we have the situation all under control...we'll make him call you. Then, don't take any calls till the next morning.

If I didn't come home one night and my husband wasnt calling me, texting me, looking for me and calling the police THAT night.....I think I would divorce him. Makes no sense that NG calls the husband of the 2nd housekeeper to tell him his wife is staying the night at her employer's house and she can't call him because her phone died and she doesn't have a power cord? Why isn't he over there that night looking for his wife? Makes no sense.

NG is interviewed, and on video says:

So when he knocked at the door, the front door, he told me that he could kinda sense, like somebody was extending, in front of the door, the inside, so he tried to knock more, and he went around, back, an the kitchen, you know the garage, sorry, when he went around, Savvas call him, and told him, oh I forgot to call you last night, but there it's ok....

It isn't made clear if he calls him on the phone or just calls him, as in calls out to him. I personally feel VF's husband saw him or at the very least actually spoke to him in person, whether from behind a door, through a window or face to face. This is just my opinion as NG doesn't clarify.
BBM.

I just saw CNN's report from this afternoon. The reporter states that the husband pounded on the door on Thursday looking for his wife, and that after he left SS's home he got a call from SS saying that he forgot to call him to tell him that his wife (the housekeeper) was staying over the previous night and that she was not currently in the house. So it was a phone call from SS, not a shout out from the home. Here is the link: http://www.cnn.com/videos/tv/2015/05/19/lead-dnt-brown-new-clues-mansion-murder.cnn

Thanks for pointing that out! Even though I knew that I didn't put it together

Also at this link the video of the male reporter...at the end he says they were held hostage until.. here he takes an unusual breath...SS got what they were looking for. Got being emphasized. Instead of gave.

It was like they were waiting for something to arrive? I wonder if there were any other deliveries we haven't heard about, other then the assistant.

Don't let that reporter fool you -- he's known for being SO dramatic. And his use of words is always a bit off.

Another thing that is strange is the other maid texting NG on Wednesday.

"On Wednesday, Figueroa texted Nelly to say she wanted to work at the home, and planned to finish by 3PM"

Ok, so when the 1st maid texted NG, that would have had to have been very early on Wednesday before the work day started. This is a very specific text and it is indicating to us that it was F's idea to work at the house on Wednesday.

This sounds like it was an unusual plan for her also. So how unlucky that of all days that the victim maid decides to work at that house, it is the day planned for the murder/robbery.
It just sounds strange to me.

Hopefully LE is confirming phone records to validate everything that was said.

I've seen several different versions of this story. I don't know what to beleive.
In one version, husband got to the home, nobody answered, then he called SS and SS answered.
Now, this one claims SS called the husband. WHy didn't SS call the husband before husband showed up if he knew husband's phone number?

Since NG is claiming she did not hear the voicemail till Thursday then the husband would not have known that his wife was planning to stay. So he should have been calling NG himself and asking about where his wife is and we have no report of him doing that or anything.

The only report is of him banging on the door and somehow talking with SS.

It seems he would have been trying to find her the previous night and not just on Thursday.

Phone records are going to be one of the keys to this case. LE needs to confirm what calls were actually placed and then begin lining up things with what was claimed by the associates.

In the first video on this link, the reporter says that the voice mail came in to NG on Wednesday around 9:30 pm but that NG didn't see the voice mail on her phone until the next day. http://www.nbcwashington.com/news/lo...304161751.html

This seems "off" to me as well. This woman is running a business. When someone who works for her cancels, she has to find a sub to fill in the next day. Otherwise, she loses money, and maybe a customer. At least that's the way cleaning services operate in my area.

I'm surprised she would not be in the habit of checking last thing at night and first thing in the morning, to make those changes and call in subs.

Not only that but she had a major client of over 20 years calling her and she didn't get his call until the next day. This has been a huge red flag for me.

Still trying to "read" what the purloined, abandoned, and torched Porsche is trying to tell us....

I don't know what was going on between SS and the hostage taker(s) -- i.e., maybe SS or the hostage taker had a strategy in calling NG rather than the husband the night before. But I would think the hostage taker would have panicked at the door pounding and made sure SS called the husband directly to try to hold the husband off at the point.

Wait a second.

Since SS call to NG about the maid spending the night was supposedly never heard till Thursday, then how did the maid's husband even know to go over to the house and bang on the door?

He should not have known that she had planned to stay the night.
For that matter, he may not have known she had planned on even working at that house at all on Wednesday. Since that was only known according to NG saying that the maid texted her wanting to work over there on Wed.

I am not sure I believe everything we have been told by certain people.

ABC's report tonight was totally based on what Nelly told them. The problem is that her various interviews have some inconsistencies as well as unnecessary, irrelevant details.

It doesn't sound like the husband thought she was staying the night, but she may have told her husband where she was going to work on Wednesday. So that's where he went to look for her on Thursday.
