I'm thinking they'd have had gasoline in their garage since Philip was into go-karting.

Guess the lawyer is hoping to be rehired, well so far, so FAIL!!

That's what I am thinking. How can he claim these things with a straight face?

I think the assistant is totally innocent and I doubt he spoke to NG or knew what was in the package he dropped off. He would have known something was wrong if he had also known $40,000 was in the package and he was told to just drop it on the front porch.

More problematic is what NG has said. LE have said the family was held 10 hours. If that is true, it means the killer arrived in the wee hours of Thursday morning. But NG insists she received a phone call from SS on Wednesday asking her to contact Vera's family and instructing her not to come to the house the next day. This contact by SS doesn't fit within the 10-hour LE timeline.

I agree that the 10 hours is a bad estimate and probably media misinformation. Even if you disregard what NG says and take that out of the equation the housekeeper did not leave at 3 as planned. So well over 10 hours that something was wrong.

I feel like I've stepped into the Twilight Zone. This show is so bad but I can't tear myself away....I think I just need to know that lawyers like this really exist. I guess Baez wasn't that out of the norm!

It's clearly not true that family was held for only 10 hours. Whoever came up with that didn't do the math. It has been reported widely that police believe family was being held hostage staring sometime Wednesday. There is no way that adds up to only 10 hours.

Apparently detectives came up with it and I think they might actually be basing it on evidence.

Detectives believe the killers held the four victims captive for about 10 hours, and that they successfully forced the Savopoulos family to get them the money.

OMG. He's the Wizards heckler guy? Yeah, grain of salt and what not

Yeah, and he was just on Nancy Grace spouting off about what a sweet guy DDW is. I think he was even smiling (smirking?) as he spoke. He's the kind of person who would do anything to be in the public eye. He LOVES it.

Robin Ficker is a certifiable flake. I hope no one takes his words at face value just because he's an attorney.

Before standing up for DDW today (on several news shows), he's made his living for decades representing others of DDW's ilk. Lie down with dogs, get fleas, etc. In my opinion, Robin Ficker deserves the same karma as those he shamelessly defends, all while knowing they are guilty as sin. He's so disingenuous. Argh...

I guess you could send your grandma to have lunch with the suspect if you really don't like your grandma.
That lawyer represented him on a bunch of minor cases many years ago, and thinks he has an insight into his character?

Sleaze bag attorney is probably thinking, "Publicity! & if he sees I'm defending him, I've got him as a client again, & Publicity!"

Somebody who came up with 10 hours must have failed their math.
They can't add.

It's been reported widely family was held hostage starting Wednesday. This doesn't add up to 10 hours, no way, no how.
I can do the math, even if some anonymous detectives can't.

Until I see LE say it is a wrong estimate, I'll continue to rely on the 10 hour time reported by msm.

If I had to imagine what was going on I don't think he/they were even thinking in terms of cleaning up after themselves from their dinner. Probably concerned about prints maybe worried about cigarette butts if there were any, but he would have to be really farsighted to think about pizza crust or throwing their garbage away. I think they have been saying that the fire was set in an upstairs bedroom, it may not even have burned much of the downstairs.

And I just read an article concerning one of his landlords that he threatened to kill (which there has been more than one he threatened to kill) and they did say he smoked. So lets hope he left cigarette butts in the home thinking it would be burned up in the fire.

IMO

Or a mistype. I think it was more like 20 hours. Has it even been reported anywhere else?

I think people of his ilk should be DISBARRED.

You can continue to rely on something that doesn't make sense. A lot of things are reported in msm.
This article says almost 24 hours which certainly makes more sense.

"It should be noted that police revealed on Wednesday, May 20, that the four victims were held captive for almost 24 hours and they were probably tortured. Savopoulos, his wife and their housekeeper were found in chairs soaked with gasoline, while 10-year-old Philip was found in his bed with various wounds all over his body. I can understand that and respect it.

Although I do not believe it is true. If it was true the murdered maid would have left at 3pm which was the time she was to leave.

I think Philip, HK, and Amy were already being held hostage when Savvas arrived home around 6 pm.

Even the police now want to know the whereabouts of the Porsche on Wednesday and wants people to call in if they saw it on Wednesday. That tells me they think this all started on Wednesday not in the middle of the night or Thursday.

JMO though

I think Ficker wants this case and is trying to get Wint to see that he can turn himself in and have a believable story that he can get off on. I think Ficker thinks Wint is stupid enough to believe that he can get off - and I think I might agree. (That he is stupid enough to believe it, not that he can get off).

I doubt it. I think Mr. attorney here is hoping to represent him again or just wants free publicity.
I couldn't watch it anymore, I thought it was so ridiculous.

well my grandmother was abusive sociopath so I wouldn't mind sending her out to lunch with him if she was still alive.

that being said, they would probably get along great, so scratch that....

It seems that this thread gets derailed pretty easily with items like how long were the perps there, did the housekeeper know about the money drop ahead of time, etc. I know the purpose of the forum is to do point/counterpoint but sometimes it seems it is just to be defiant to the majority. Waste of time IMO.
