The article identifies Ms Hines as a "prosecutor".

HOWEVER, Deborah Hines is a criminal attorney in Washington DC who was simply speculating.

She is simply offering an opinion.

I assumed it was one of the prosecutors on the case. It sure is easy to get an impression based on how things are worded. Thanks - I will take it with a grain of salt then until LE connected to the case says it.

I don't get cell service inside home depot or lowes, I always have to go outside. I just don't think they have a connection. I'm guessing since the hardware store he was at was near the new studio, that he was probably getting something needed for that.

I get cell service inside hardware stores, dept. stores, grocery stores, hospitals. My point is, he was inside Lowes until 12 noon. He just dropped off a large sum of cash in an unlocked car 2 hours earlier. Knowing me, I would be very nervous about leaving $40K inside an unlocked car. I don't want to be on the hook for that amount of cash if it went missing. Therefore, I would be on my phone constantly calling SS to see if he received it. I find it hard to believe he did not call or text SS until 1:40 p.m. I think he knew SS was dead, and he was covering his 🤬🤬🤬 by calling his cell at 1:40 p.m.

I've always had the feeling there was a single perpetrator. and at this stage I will be surprised if there was more than one.

I believe JW was fired from the racetrack in March 2015 and then hired as SS's driver and had only been employed as a driver/assistant with the family for a few months. IMO JW appears to be hispanic not black but thats just MO. Im interested in JW and NG's relations. I personally believe he is the one who sent NG the picture of the 20,000 grand and unfortunately I only draw negative effects on why he did that.

We are only guessing W-2 is NG. It could be someone else, so we don't know who got the photo of the money. Only that that person countered W-1's testimony with it. I agree it's hard to apply innocent motives to the picture of the money - especially when it was apparently a picture of only some of the money.

I'd assume with the security presence in the area, the proximity to the zoo, and the proximity to the Naval Observatory/embassies, street parking would be enforced but it's hard to tell.

ETA: A google street view shows a sign near their house on the Woodland Drive side saying no parking at any time. On the 32nd Street side (where their driveway is), you can see permit parking signs stating 2 hour limits for non-permit holders. I can't read the times, though.

Generally, the 2-hour limit for non-permit holders is until 8pm. Aside from the official parking regulations, I think neighbors would have noticed and commented on an unfamiliar car being parked on the street overnight. I'm a personal assistant in a similar neighborhood in DC (Forest Hills) and my boss lets neighbors know when he's expecting people to be parking in front of his house. It's entirely possible that neighbors did tell LE about an unfamiliar car and that information hasn't been released. Also possible that nobody noticed but the fact that they did notice the vacuum cleaner salesperson, etc., makes me think people there are alert to strangers.

To those of you who have more experience following these kinds of cases:

Is it commonplace in the charging document for a suspect, to include information about lies from another witness?

BBM. Very telling gap in time. I think the same thing about NG setting up her reasons for not going to the home on Thursday.

I get service in all the stores also but in this Lowe's you lose service depending on where you are. It is possible he didn't get the call because of that and then noticed the miss call at 1:40.

10 miles away from the crime scene is far away I think. Now if he had been caught a couple of blocks away from the home that may reveal something because he would have been in the immediate area. But that was not the case.

I suppose he came back to get his brother's help. Maybe his brother is the one who went in to get the money orders.

I really don't think the box truck his brother drove was for a chop shop. If that was the case the police would know it already. I am sure the brother had to prove he was employed with this company and had a legal right to be driving it. I have seen these type of vehicles before on the road and they are very nice vehicles with all the latest tools/mechanic equipment onboard in case someone is in need of having their car repaired that may have them stranded on the road. They are sort of like Safelight (sp?) that comes to wherever the person's vehicle is to repair a cracked windshield. I am guessing Wint's brother works for this company who owns the box truck.

We have tried to guess so many times before why a certain suspect did the odd/crazy/stupid things they did and imo its not doable. I don't think it is a question that really can be answered unless it becomes known when it goes to trial. We seem to put rational thought into the mind of a cold blooded murder and do not know their thought processes. We often question why in the world did they (suspects) do this or that???? All we know now is he did return and thank goodness he was apprehended.

IMO

BBM It appears that one of the two men in the truck gave the monies to the woman who was in the car with the defendant to purchase the money orders per the post arrest legal documents.. HTH

Yeah, I've seen that before. People lie or are inconsistent for a lot of reasons and I have seen LE use the word "lie" before. For example, in the Faith Hedgepeth case, there were a lot of people who were witnesses and who also told stories that didn't really make sense, and inconsistencies were noted.

So are we looking for someone who knows the values of the SS cars, can get his hands on the specialized Amerit truck, knows how to operate a chop shop and sell the parts. Oh and has short hair and looks clean cut.

And if hypothetically, Wint and others were making their way back to cars/valuables in D.C., then some insider would need to have easier access to those items and not raise LE suspicion or know easier way to steal the cars w/LE presence, Jmo.

I thought he was only inside of Lowe's until Noon? I find it strange he didn't contact his boss in nearly two hours.

A really big connection is wint's relative that was recently fired from the company. I find that the more likely connection. I don't know what his relative did, but it's funny that he was recently fired and the new assistant recently hired. Maybe the relative that got fired is the main person in all of this.

Can you post link for that on relative who was fired? This was discussed yesterday, and I thought read this about relative too, but never found link in threads/media. Tia/

The person (with hoodie) on video, running from scene of burning car was, yes, identified as DDW.

The person with "short, well-groomed hair" (described* by W-3 (IIRC)) was never identified as DDW nor anyone else.

The news report I quoted said, "authorities may have linked" (so, yes, this is appears to be the derived opinion of the writer). I guess my point was that this writer came to the same conclusions/opinions as several WS members - who think there were two different people - one person with short, well-groomed hair who drove the car erratically from the home, and another wearing a hoodie, running from scene of burned Porsche.
The "erratic" driver with "short, well-groomed hair," was also said to have been seen driving along New York Ave, and wearing a 'neon green" construction or work vest, CORRECT?

The guy running away from the torched Porsche, with the white bucket, was wearing a hoodie up over his head and a neon green vest was found in the burnt out car, CORRECT?

We must remember that the car was MIA for about 3.5 hours (From 1:30-5:00 PM) so it could have given someone a chance to change drivers...maybe somewhere near the church... like off of 85th Ave between the 5300 and 5400 block?

That's what I'm thinking... Maybe he only got part of that money ... Then again, maybe he owed other people big time and had to pay up real fast ....

My question is why would Witness 1 (assistant) send a photo at about 9 a.m. of the day of the murders to W-2 (housecleaner?) of the money taken out of the bank, as said in the charging papers? Also, the photo was only of two bundles of cash but the charging papers says that there were four bundles given to him ... See page 8.

http://apps.washingtonpost.com/g/documents/local/charging-papers-against-daron-wint/1558/
Since one of the bundles no longer had a bank wrapper on it...could he have changed the amount of the split...like added or subtracted to one of the bundles?

These idiots always return 'to the scene of the crime' for some reason.
True and another key player kept returning for her interviews with the media...

Or at AIW since he had to drive right past it to get to the church lot. SS was said to use those vests when entering a work site. Maybe the perp put one on to look official going in to AIW. Maybe all the employee wear one on site. Also to note, SS kept them in the garage. That is also where the money, the Mosler, etc. were. And the delivery guy at one point.

Didn't she also get her nails done?

It would seem that most neighbors in SS neighborhood would have videos on their security systems. Surely LE has the videos that would be beneficial to this case and could see the people hanging out or going in the SS house. It was stated earlier that the videos at SS's house had been erased. No link.

Point being that LE would be able to see exactly if other perps were going in or out of the house. JMO.

"Erased" doesn't make sense. With the kind of money they had wouldn't a live feed go to the security company? Or is that service activated only when the alarm is tripped.
