Police, Firefighters Search for Missing Laurel Woman
LAUREL, Del.- Firefighters and police officers spent much of Thursday night and early Friday morning searching the Laurel and Delmar area for a woman reported as missing.
According to the Delmar Fire Department, a Delaware State Police helicopter as well as K9 units were searching the area of South Scottsdale Circle off Whitesville Road just after midnight. Neighbors in the area report seeing the police activity and hearing the helicopter overhead.
Delaware State Police confirmed Friday morning they are looking for Charlena Victory. A Gold Alert was issued for her Friday. Police said she was last seen Thursday night around 10 p.m.
Victory is 5-foot-1, 100-110 pounds, with very short brown and gray hair, police said. She was last seen wearing a red, white and blue shirt with ruffles, jeans, and glasses.
Troopers said they were unable to make contact with her to check on her welfare, and there is a real concern for her safety.
