• Distinguishing Characteristics - Caucasian male. Brown hair, hazel eyes. Wisniewski has numerous tattoos on both upper arms, his right forearm, the inside of his left wrist and right middle finger. The tattoos include the number "13" on his bicep, the number "13" on his finger, and a monochromatic skull and crossbones with flames on his wrist. A photo of the skull tattoo is posted with this case summary. Wisniewski's head was shaved at the time of his disappearance. He has a scar or mark on his right hand.

Details of Disappearance
Wisniewski was last seen at his residence on R Farm Lane in Dagsboro, Delaware at 1:00 a.m. on January 24, 2011. He has never been heard from again. Few details are available in his case.

Gumboro man missing for a decade last seen where suspected remains found
Suspected human remains found in Gumboro last week were located in the same area a missing man was last seen 10 years earlier. Police have yet to announce any link in the cases. John Douglas Wisniewski Sr., then 45, was last seen at his home on R Farm Lane at about 1 a.m. Jan. 24, 2011. Family members of Wisniewski declined to comment.

Suspect Charged With Murder of Del. Man Who Went Missing 10 Years Ago

Michael Ellingsen, 31, of Georgetown, Delaware, was arrested Monday and charged with the murder of John “Doug” Wisniewski, 45, of Dagsboro. [snip] State troopers and forensic investigators searched the property on R Farm Lane for several days in January. Finally, on January 22, they found Wisniewski’s body on the property.

On Monday, a Sussex County Grand Jury issued an indictment for Ellingsen’s arrest. Later that day, Delaware State Police took Ellingsen into custody without incident and arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court #2 for the charge of Murder First Degree (Felony). He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $1,000,000.00 cash bond.
