DE DE - John 'Jack' Wheeler, 66, Wilmington, 30 Dec 2010

I don't disagree with that Fleisher guy regarding some of his speculations, however he fails to account for the fact that Wheeler was seen acting peculiarly before he even got to downtown Wilmington, and he fails to advance any theory on how he might have gotten to Newark to put himself into one of those big dumpsters.

Otherwise, he makes some good points.

That does paint a more favorable picture of the cabbie. However, I still find it very odd that Mr. Wheeler would call his number. Why not hail a cab or call dispatch? There's always the possibility that this particular cabbie was skilled at providing special concierge type services.
Well, Missizzy, I know you are currently stuck on your girlfriend theory with which I am in complete disagreement. But, did it occur to you that perhaps someone else planted the cabbies number on his phone? We also don't know if he did actually call the number, or if he just had it listed in his phone.

From halfway down this article http://www.myfoxdc.com/dpps/news/010511-images-wheeler-seen-on-surveillance-video_11311281
"According to police, Wheeler's car was parked in his monthly space at the DoubleTree Hotel's garage, closer to the train station"

More information about the parking authority garages in Wilmington can be found here http://www.wilmingtonparking.com/garages_custom_house.html

The Doubletree Garage is also known is the Custom House garage. Obviously the Train Station garage is the closest to the Amtrack Station, and at that point between French and King streets MLK has turned into Front St. Right now I can't find the article that says his car was impounded from the Doubletree garage on the 31st, but I'll try to locate it.

From: http://www.delawareonline.com/article/20110105/NEWS01/101050356/-1/news01

An employee at the garage said she tried to help Wheeler, who was carrying his right shoe in his left hand and said someone had stolen his briefcase. The 66-year-old Wheeler was blocks away from where his car was parked in a garage on MLK Boulevard near the train station. Wilmington Parking Authority officials said he was a monthly customer.

and

"Police later found Wheeler's car at the parking garage right across the street from the train station in its designated spot." as reported by WPVI-TV/DT (I don't have the link right now, I forgot to include it in my notes.

Times and locations in John P. Wheeler III case

The Times Journal has put together a timeline.

There are a few small items missing that I would include if it was my timeline, but a big item specifically missing is the newest information I linked to above regarding a phone call to a taxi company at about 4 or 5 pm on December 29th from a Dollar Store location near Happy Harry's asking for a cab ride to a Philadelphia train station, 45 miles away.

The cab driver drove to the store but the caller wasn't there when he got there.

The television would not be too unusual. Both he an his wife were out of town. I leave a television on when I'm out of town, just to make it look like someone is home.

We do the same thing, but, our neighbors wouldn't be able to hear it. It isn't "blaring" as described by neighbors.

"Blaring" might be a subjective term. The neighbor didn't indicate that he pounded on the door or called the cops.

With his wife out of town, I'd wonder why JW would have to "hide" something.

I use the radio, why wreck your TV screen? I also use timed lights. Also, leave a bathroom light on. Someone can be in the bathroom at any time.

When I first heard the neighbor report that,I wondered the same thing. If someone's TV is on that loud for 4 days and you can hear it in the middle of winter, wouldn't it concern you? It would me.
I don't believe he was hiding anything, but someone else was.

From: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/40904330/ns/us_news-crime_and_courts/

"According to The News Journal of Wilmington, Ron Roark, who has lived next door to Wheeler for seven months, said Monday he had met Wheeler only once and rarely saw him. But for four days around Christmas, he said he and his family heard a loud television in Wheeler's home that was constantly on, but no one appeared to be home.

"It was so loud, we could hear it through the walls, and we found that strange," Roark told the newspaper."

If you have seen pictures of the home, you will have seen that it is a duplex and appears to be two, two story units side by side, so they share common walls. Which might make the sound a little more noticeable. But, 'blaring'? as someone put it, I dunno.

In my opinion, the significance of it depends on exactly what four days did this occur?

Didn't know they lived in a duplex. Then it doesn't seem at all strange. My TV is on 24/7, so if someone lived adjoining, they most certainly would hear my TV. Thanks for the info.

It might have been a "row house" with common walls on each side; I've lived in one for years.

The television has one advantage. The changing scenes cast different light. It makes it look like there is someone moving around the room.

My mistake, its a three story, not two story, side by side duplex. Its old, circa 1900, maybe older. It is a stand alone brick building, it is not a row house.

The television wasn't the hiding part; I could very easily understand why he'd leave it on.

I was thinking about hiding an affair or something. His wife was out of town. He wouldn't have to be too sneaky in that circumstance.

Just wanted to give my opinion again...LOL

I think he is being set up and was somehow poisioned. The first time someone failed to kill him or the contents of his briefcase was the reason someone decided he must die.

We will never know the truth.

Thornblom discounted speculation Wheeler would have been involved in an alleged smoke bomb incident at the construction site of the house.

"This is so out of character and I can tell you right now, all of us at West Point went through demolitions and mine-clearing technique training and even how to construct field expedient napalm. If Jack had wanted that house disappointed or burnt down, he would've done it. Nobody would have known about it. And he certainly wouldn't have been stupid enough to leave his iPhone there," Thornblom said

Did anyone watch Geraldo last night? I came in on the very tail end of it and they were discussing the case. Some General who I've seen on TV before, who is friends with Wheeler, is not ruling out some sort of foreign government involvement. He said Wheeler was deeply involved insome extremely secret government stuff,I believe it had something to do with cyber activities.Wish I had seen all of it.

I hope this is why the "set up" will fail. (my opinion only)
