DE DE - The Sanders Family (Jean, 32, Bonnie, 9, Carol, 7, and John, 4) , Dover, 1950s'

According to a Sept 1944 news report (I stink at the clipping/saving & posting here aspect :() has a Harold C Sanders visiting his wife and daughter while on leave from service in southwest Pacific. Also, states Mrs Sanders and daughter spent the last month in Washington and plan to return there after his leave. I may be lurking down the wrong rabbit trail as it appears I'm heading towards the west coast with this info.

And, next a note in the "Waverly Watchman" dated 11/1/1945, Pfc Harold C Sanders on furlough from service in Philippines.

Same man, am I inching closer ? Still digging

Haven’t checked out fully the Illinois one you found yet.
I did find a Indiana Harold c sanders marriage to a Jeanette Ritz but alas another rabbit hole.

Does anyone have a paid subscription to Ancestry? Online search of Jean Sanders sent me to a message board of Ross/Sanders. Someone was asking about her aunt Betty Jean Ross who married Sanders in either IA or MO, & went missing around 54. Doesn't say where missing from. I dont think this could be a coincidence with same facts, but my membership has expired so I cant message her! Could be a good place to start.

I have but for the life of me I can’t find a message area!
Can you give me a “dummies guide to find it”?
Maybe my Australian Ancestry site is different idk.

Harold Sanders, of Dover, DE - reported that his wife and three children were missing. He said that he had a son, John, who was fair, thin, and about the age of the child found battered to death in Fox Chase. Mr. Sanders' wife and children were subsequently located - alive and well. The investigators learned that Mrs. Sanders had not really been "missing" after all, but had simply left her husband and taken the children with her.

Wow Thankyou, great find!
Still so strange to not be able to find any other information on any of them, possible she changed all their names.
Wouldn’t that be considered parental child abduction as well?
