DE - Three dead in Bavarian hotel crossbow murder mystery

It's Wales, not England. Sorry, not being pedantic! Its an important distinction to anyone who is Welsh (like me!).

Anyway, these deaths in Bayern and Rhineland Palatinate is facinating.

I completely understand! I have been to your beautiful country and England too (and Cornwall).

Thanks for the correction.

Beard & garb add style points to the murder mystery. Anyone thinking "cult involvement" yet? Any St. Sebastian cults move to the front of the list.

yes I mentioned it upthread
although I donèt know what St. Sebastian cults are ... will google

According to the article below the two women found later were not killed with a crossbow. They found two wills at the first scene in Bavaria, belonging to the man and the woman found on the bed. The authorities are calling it murder-suicide. One of the women found elsewhere was the life partner of the 30-year old woman found in Bavaria.

3 killed by crossbow shots to hearts, neck in German hotel: authorities

Investigators said a 53-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman found dead in a hotel bed in Passau, near the Austrian border, on Saturday each died from one bolt to the heart. A 30-year-old woman found on the floor of the same room died from a shot to the neck.

The evidence suggests that the younger woman first shot the other two and then herself, news agency dpa quoted prosecutors as saying, adding that it appeared to be a case of “killing on demand” or suicide.

Officials are still awaiting autopsy results on the bodies of two women found dead Monday in the younger woman’s apartment in northern Germany

Prosecutors now believe the woman, identified as Farina C., 30, shot the couple first and then herself in a “killing on demand,” the Associated Press reported, citing German media.

Police are still investigating whether alcohol or drugs played a role.

The couple were identified by Agence France-Presse as Torsten W., 53, and Kerstin E., 33.

Two more deaths linked to the incident were discovered after police searched Farina C.'s apartment, about 400 miles away in the city of Wittingen, in Lower Saxony state.

Police found two dead women in the apartment on Monday, Lower Bavaria police said in a statement. Their identities and connections to the victims in Passau, Bavaria, are unknown, police said.

No crossbows or bolts were found at that scene, AFP reported. Investigators are awaiting autopsies to conclude their manner of death.

More details from the press articles:

One of the two women found in Wittingen is a 19-year old unconnected to others and the other a 35-year old life partner of the 30-year old found in Passau. No signs of injuries were observed on the women's bodies.
The three people found in Passau took interest in medieval games. On their way back from Austria they bought three crossbows. Two of them were used in the killings.

So, she killed four people and then shot herself in the neck with a crossbow? Urrgh. That's some crazy gruesomness right there.

I was just looking at crossbow bolts yesterday in relation to the Gerald Corrigan Wales/ Anglesey case. Horrible weapon. Moo

Germany crossbow murder victims were medieval combat enthusiasts, linked to deaths of 2 others hundreds of miles away
"Torsten had multiple tattoos on his arms of symbols of medieval alchemists or natural philosophers. It said that for the past five months he owned a shop called “Milites Conductius,” which sold medieval-style swords, axes, knives, flags, and clothing as well as mead, according to the German newspaper Bild.

At the shop, he reportedly provided a space for sword-fighting lessons, the newspaper reported.

All three were listed on a website run by the International Jousting League, based in Belgium, according to the BBC. A spokesperson said the listing merely meant they had registered as affiliates at some time in the past.

Bavarian police spokesman Stefan Gaisbauer said earlier Monday there are no indications that anyone other than those found dead were involved but that it is not yet clear what happened."

There were also several days and a substantial distance between the incidents. Was she not concerned that the first two deaths would be discovered sooner?

I mean- we see some REALLY strange things here at WS- but this one is definitely in my Top Ten Weird List.

This truly proves that life definitely is stranger than fiction. When you think you've heard it all...and these are not even kids playing dangerous games. I just wonder how does anyone as delusional as this support themselves while they engage in activities of this sort?

I don't know. People have jobs and they have hobbies, some more interesting than others. One of the trio owned a shop and another managed a bakery. The other two women had normal jobs as well. As long as they weren't part of a crazy cult, I have no problem with their interests.
Edited to add that apparently the 35-year old from Wittingen worked as a school teacher.
