Family pushing for answers in Lewes missing persons investigation - 47abc

Police say 46-year-old Woodrow “Woody” Dickerson went missing back on October 7th.

Dickerson’s wife, Trish, tells 47ABC it was a normal morning. “I leave for work very early. We said our goodbyes. We said ‘I love you’s’ and that was the last time I saw him. I came home that afternoon and I noticed his truck wasn’t here, which is unusual,” she said.

Trish says when she returned home that afternoon, she found a letter Woody had left for her. She says in the letter, Woody wrote that he was depressed, and was saying his final goodbye. The next morning, Trish found Woody’s maroon Ford F150 at his mother’s house. She says the license plates had been taken off.

I see he had a 5th DUI offense arrest/DV incident in 2020:

Lewes- The Delaware State Police have arrested Woodrow W. Dickerson (photo 2018), 44, of Lewes, DE for 5th offense DUI following a domestic related incident.

The incident occurred on May 12, 2020 at approximately 8:32 p.m., when Troopers were dispatched to a residence in the 30000 block of Buttonwood Drive, Lewes, for a report of a physical domestic. Prior to arrival, Troopers were made aware that the suspect, Woodrow Dickerson, had left the residence in a maroon Ford F-150. Troopers observed the truck traveling eastbound on Minos Conaway Road. The vehicle was crossing the double yellow line and failing to maintain its lane of travel. The vehicle then proceeded to turn northbound onto Coastal Highway, when the driver failed to utilize its turn signal. A traffic stop was initiated and contact was made with the driver, Dickerson, when an odor of alcohol was detected. A DUI investigation ensued and a computer inquiry revealed that Dickerson had four prior DUI arrests.

Further investigation into the domestic incident revealed that Dickerson had engaged in a verbal argument with his wife. The argument led to Dickerson grabbing and pushing the victim. The victim did not sustain injury.

Dickerson was taken into custody and transported back to Troop 7 where he refused to comply with having his fingerprints and photograph taken. He was subsequently charged with the following:
  • 5th Offense after 4 prior offenses – Driving a Vehicle under the Influence
  • Failure to Comply with Taking of Photos and Fingerprints
  • Offensive Touching
  • Failure to Obey a Traffic Control Device
  • Failure when Moving Right, Left or Turning to Signal
  • Failure to Have License in Possession
