Our prayers have been for Australia during this scary and heartbreaking time. Please keep safe.

Canada is sending firefighters to help.

Thankyou , we need all the help we can get, our fire fighters are exhausted :(

They should be there by Saturday, which might mean they have already arrived. I can't even imagine the dangerous, heavy, physical work that offers no breaks.

Yep, but you won't hear them complaining :)

Thank you to all that are sending help. We've had help from Canada, US, New Zealand etc. Much appreciated.

We’re for Sydney | Daily Telegraph

North American firefighters have been arriving in Australia since early December to assist in the country’s bushfire crisis with more to be deployed on Monday.

For the first time since 2010, the US is sending firefighters while Canada is sending fire experts to Australia for the first time.

Australia is in the grip of an unprecedented, catastrophic bushfire season.

Massive fires are burning across the country, with many of the blazes out of control.

Fatalities have been recorded in three states, and there are real fears the death toll will rise - with at least 20 people unaccounted for in Victoria.

Homes have been destroyed in all states, while livestock and native wildlife deaths and injuries continue to rise.

Mass emergency evacuations have been carried out in Victoria.

And thousands of holidaymakers and residents in at least two states are escaping from fire zones.

As Australians count the cost, here is a state-by-state breakdown of the devastation.

I just have a little rant. We were in lakes entrance and we received a text from vic emergency to evacuate on the 29th dec. we left, however we were told by the caravan park that we shouldn't leave. And the head office of this major caravan park also said the same thing. Hardly anyone evacuated. It makes me so mad.

That's actually dangerous.

Did the fires come close?

It was smoky when we left. There were fires all around. But I think the closest they got was 20km.

Yes, it is so ridiculous because it puts so much more pressure on the emergency services as it is.
