I don't know where I read it, but, IIRC, she wasn't working that night and carried those items because of his costume. When she couldn't locate Chris the next day, she contacted his parents and took the items to them.
Yes, I read that, too. (Strange, I thought I read it in the report, too.)

10TV News on Tuesday learned that investigators were re-examining evidence in the drowning of an Ohio University student 10 years ago.

Police originally determined that there was no foul play in the death of Keith Noble, 10TV's Cara Connelly reported.

According to investigators, Noble, 19, disappeared after a night of drinking on April 24, 1998. About two weeks later, his body was found in the Hocking River. (more and video at the below link)

Not that it has anything to do with anything. But if you read more, like a statement given by an ex bf, IMO, the girl was trouble.

Greta rerun is on. :)

How's this?

"Dude, is that your red truck in the parking lot? It just got smashed! Guy's trying to get away, my boyfriend's holdin' on to him! Hurry up, c'mon!"

Thank you...thank you very much.

Susan

Not bad, except most of them didn't drive to the bars. Being a woman, you can think up something more enticing to a slightly toasty male college student. Think, think.....

Charles (Chuck) Loesch is the PI's name. He didn't say there were 30 in the group of suspected killers, but 30 deaths happened after Chris' which maybe could have been prevented if someone had payed attention when Chris went missing.

He did say that they know several people involved in other cases of the group tho. (That is the reason they want LE to help investigate.)

She wouldn't have to say much. A lick of the lips and a wink would do.

Local law enforcement in a lot of these places isn't going to cut it. It's gotta be bigger...more manpower...and expertise. Living in a small town, I know there are limited resources. What surprises me is when these bigger cities, like Madison, WI (which by the way is the capital of WI) can't manage to solve a murder. i'm sorry I missed greta. I imagine it will be shown online sometime soon, right?

Usually her transcripts are online after such shows. It will probably be up sometime tomorrow. :)

Limited resources are no reason for all of the various LE agencies to jump to such a conclusion so quickly tho. You are correct about Madison. They have many cold cases they have been unable to solve since the late 60's.

The real problem is that as soon as the ME declares the death an accidental drowning...there is no need to further investigate the case. They are not actively searching for clues leading up to what happened and only have to consider the end result. It truly is the "perfect murder", as Chris' mom put it. No evidence and no reason to look for any.

SS-thanks for the info. I, by no means, excuse shoddy police work no matter what. I'm just not sure how smart these people really are.

Bumping for obvious reasons. (see casefile, page 21 & 22)

Another interesting comment from the GMA article:

superexcitedguy 12 - I was also a native of La Crosse and attended college there. I also worked in law enforcement for the county of LaX. I will back up your claims that many people speculate the involvement of an officer or somebody dressed up as one. I remember a few of my friends and I would go out after midnight and sit in our car....doing a "look out" at RiverSide and how we had many thoughts going through our "heads" of who could be doing this.

Maybe I am tired, but page 21-22 deal with Rob Rankin and Ashley's ex-boyfriend. What am I missing?

I have never wanted to believe that these are the work of a serial killer. It breaks my heart. I don't know about all the cases. But I did know Patrick Kycia, who died in Moorehead, Minnesota very well. I was told too many times,"no foul play". Patrick was a brilliant, funny, likable young man who happened to go to a frat party and disappeared. He was found in the river 5 days later. None of the facts of the case have ever added up. I try to keep an open mind and pray that the TRUTH,whatever it turns out to be will be told. I knew him and loved him for 19 years. He is my son. I know, without a doubt, that my son did not walk two miles out of the way just to walk into the Red River.

Not the "numbered" pages, rather the pdf pages. At the top of your reader, there should be a place to enter the pdf page number. That will take you directly to the referent pages.

Do you have any more info on the guy from your friends dorm? It would help to take a specific look to determine if this mystery does go back to 93/94.

I been in touch with another friend that I went to school with back then. We are both trying to find out what his name was. Also I don't have much details about this or know if it is related in anyway, but I seem to remember back in the summer of 95 while I was working at the Merchandise Mart in Downtown Chicago that there were 2 or 3 bodies found in the Chicago River by the Mart. I'll try to see if I can find any info on that.

Detectives Gannon and Duarte said their investigation started with a disappearance in 1997. However, I'm wondering if the following story could be connected because it is the exact same type of case, in the same geographic area. A young, athletic student walking home alone after a party, found drown in the white river. I remember this because I was also a student at Ball State in 1994 when this occurred. How can Gannon and Duarte be contacted so they may be alerted to this case?MISSING STUDENT'S BODY FOUND IN WHITE RIVERSource: ASSOCIATED PRESSA body pulled yesterday from the White River is a Ball State University student missing for the past 10 days, the Delaware County coroner said. Coroner Jack Stonebraker Jr. said Grant Young's death likely was accidental, but the cause is still under investigation. Tests are being conducted to determine whether alcohol was a factor in the 19-year-old's death. Young, a freshman from Carmel, was last seen around midnight April 10, out with some friends. I agree. I thought her behaviour was really odd. I read the police case file and one of Chris' friends mentioned he was upset about $100 being missing from his wallet and he suspected Ashley. I also noticed that her coworkers didn't seem to care too much for her. When she was drunk and stranded at the end of the night, it sounded like it they ignored her and she got a ride home with the police officer. IMO, she is a big party girl and Chris probably didn't know the extent of her partying, and once he found out he might have become disillusioned with her.

Just an FYI, Steve Huff is covering this on his site today, not sure if I'm allowed to post his link? Good Read.
