My niece's grandfather was a full blood Osage Indian. She is paler than I am, blue eyes, blonde hair, and you could not tell whatsoever until she told you that she was indeed Native American!

And I am talL, blonde haired and blue eyed also..so how could one tell by looking at another what their racial pedigree is? That is my point, if Native Americans are doing this to the white man..how would they know who IS and who is not 100% white? Looks can be very deceiving.

Well you and SS are right but there would be 2 things to consider. Here's 1 of them. If the killers are men; logic might be only hit and miss. You ladies here haveto remember that men and women have their differences. Women almost always commit crimes that are logical; be it either robbery or a familiy issue; there almost always a method to women's madness and everything will connect. With men there's usually some logic but parts that make no sense and don't connect at all. That's why I think if a male serial killer targeted white men; getting it right 90 or 95% of the time would be good enough for him. The ladies here might be looking for 100% logic, but how many men are logical 7 days a week?

What is your theory on this from the music end? Do you think that maybe the bands that play these different bars are involved in someway? Maybe the wait staff too?

Personally in Chris Jenkins case I believe that his girlfriend and the security cops, as well as a bartender there may have been involved. All the concern over keeping track of his number of drinks, then being thrown out without his belongings..and why wasn't his girlfriend right there to leave with him? I mean if the people at the bar knew her and him, why didn't they get her then when they were telling him to leave? That whole deal there at that bar that night just doesn't make sense.

That's odd. I removed all of the superfluous words from your post and there was nothing left. That is, except for this bit.
Think before you post please..thank you
So, lemme guess. Are you the new self-appointed posting nanny?

Agree totally DD-
throw in the discepancy on the return of Chris cell phone, the hole in the wall at her house, the friend running to a neighbor sobbing, among others- I may be wrong, but I think eventually there will be a break in this case.

Yes, what was all that about anyway? What happened that night at her house?

A lot of people are using your missing drowned data page, here's updates and corrections for your Missing/Drowned Data page.

http://crimsonshadows.net/forum/showthread.php?t=1000

Unfortunately 2 more to add

Tommy Booth Ridley Township, PA missing 1/19/08
William Jacobson Ithaca, NY missing 4/30/08

Josh Szostak went missing in Albany. He was found 20 miles downstream in Coxsackie, but it was Albany, NY where he partied and went missing; not Coxsackie

Richard Hlavaty was in a fight with people and drowned after him and his brother jumped in a river and had rocks thrown at them--this 1 doesn't belong

SL- William Jacobson's date of disappearance is 4/27/08- He was FOUND 4/30/08, which is located also on the mp NY thread also on this forum.

Tommy Booth was seen after 1am on 1/20/08 as previously posted, so his date of disappearance is 1/20/08. Tommy's data is located on the MP PA thread. Let me know if you need any additional help navigating here, I want to help you research and have correct data before posting from now on

Hi Dawn; I can't say anything about my music theory or my other idea because they are both way too specific. Without more info from the detectives it would be hard to work much more on these ideas, but I'm trying. I'll say this though; I think it was an excellent idea to start looking into the bands who played at the bars on the nights when these kids went missing. Any pictures that might have been taken on those nights are also good. It might lead to nothing but it's worth a shot. I don't think I'd focus on the wait staff or bouncers at specific places though--just those who travel: the band, roadies, crew and fans. I'm guessing Chris Jenkins is connected to the other cases and he was killed as the others were. I'd speculate; lots of drinking; maybe boyfriend/girlfriend tension, so he left alone and forgot his cell, keys and wallet and the killers got him.

Good corrections; they need to be put on the Shadow Missing/Drowned Data page; unless there's another page or webiste that has an easy to read chronology of these drownings like he's got. His link is

When people finally realize that they are not dealing with a bunch of dolts around here and that we have intelligent people who have worked many, many cases efficiently and effectively...maybe they also will learn that we are not here for attention and this is not some competition. We are not rude to other members. We don't try to make them feel stupid or otherwise inadequate. We are a group who normally work very well together on cases and respect one another.

If someone has something to add to this discussion or other ideas to be explored, please do. We do welcome differing opinions. :)

They are covering the story on Greta:

The rundown is that Mark F. sees nothing that connects any of them and believes them to be all accidents. Dr. Baden explains that with fires, drownings, and other cases...the autopsy results will be the same if they were homicide or accidental and it is up to LE to prove through investigation the manner of death. Dr. Baden said "Not at this time" when asked if he believes it could be a serial killer/killers or homicide.

They are covering the story on Greta!

Coast to Coast late night wth Ian Punnet will have segment also; at least he said it would but its not on website yet--it would be tomorrow night. I'm pessimistic though and don't expect anything new from either show. The other symbols and other letters writen near smileys would help

  • #498
I really think we shouldn't put so much weight on the "smileys" in sense of those wearing the t-shirts and other smiley sold items. Anyone who really is involved in the group (the group of killers being obviously organized) would not go about wearing a t-shirt with a smiley on it. The shirts were sold in the 90's and before, and after as well; people will market what they can. I really wish we had something else to go by to connect them aside from that graffiti and the similarities of the victims.
I also don't think it's any gang of Mexicans or Native Americans. Whoever is killing, has to fit into their mostly white surroundings..

  • #499
I don't put a lot of weight into the smileys either. However, the detectives do. I think posting the guitar player's photo of him wearing the shirt on the same night a man goes missing from the same bar isn't like posting at random. Besides, it wasn't a "normal" smiley.

I would have to disagree they would have to fit into their "mostly white surroundings", too. In the Jenkin's case, the men who supposedly fought with him across the street and the man named Mohammed, which may have taken him in the van, were not white. Colleges are very diverse and so are our communities.

There are more like 12 additions since April 26, 2008. And, while I have been updating the crime map as info becomes available, updating the stats thread is a manual and somewhat tedious proc (even with the excel macros). I have updated the thread and will continue to do so as time permits. That is, until I've finished my proggie that models the vicap report, which is designed to auto-gen the stats & graphs, as well as providing a means to update/add data as it becomes available. The proggie also has a hook for updating my crime maps (to include automated geocoding) as well.
