Does anyone know if freight trains may connect and have routes to any of these areas? Someone possibly hopping trains to get from one to the other to kill? It won't be the first time that happened.

It can't be ruled out, but again speaks to one individual. That would be reliant on said transportation to get to the scene and get out, without detection which does not seem to be the most reliable. Do you have a working theory on that? I would be interested to hear it, it's not the first time it has come up.

Therefore the killer has to be able to blend in,

Well you might end up being right; but it's always better to commit crimes when no one can see you. The darker out the better also. So I thought just swoop in after 1:00 a.m., get some kid who's walking home alone in your van and kill him. Maybe these kids are first lured, but if they don't get in; maybe they're abducted and forced in. Most killers are cowards and maybe that's why none of these kids are football player sized. There's not 1 big, tall fat kid out of the 40; so I sense a scenario where we got 2-4 cowards ganging up on 1 kid who's been drinking. We keep hearing that these kids are athletic, but most are no taller than 5 foot 10 and 180 pounds and a bunch are more like 5 foot 8 and 160 pounds. So they're kids in good physically shape, but it wouldn't be hard for 2-4 guys to quickly overpower 1 average sized kid; especially if the kid has been drinking.

So few clues are out there, but Mrs. Jenkins said that her son was tortured in a cargo van before being dumped in the river. So if Chris Jenkins connects with the others; then it would be a van or cargo van that's probably the start of these crimes. And I'd have to watch the video of her again but I think she refers to her son being tortured by more than 1 person; so if he connects with the other cases; then it would be a van with what sounds like 3 or 4 people

When people finally realize...If someone has something to add to this discussion , please do. :)

I've been trying to visualize how these crimes go down. Mrs. Jenkins said her son was tortured for a few hours in a cargo van and the detectives said that they have an informant who's given them names of killers. So it's got to be that Mrs. Jenkins info came from the informant. So there's a cargo van with a driver and at least 1 other person(the informant). I would guess that there's a driver, a killer and the informant who's probably also a suspect in the killing. I'd guess the informant probably told the detectives that as the driver drove around; that he watched someone else kill Chris Jenkins, but that he did not take part in the killing. And so if the Jenkins case connects with all the others; then I would gues that this is how the crimes are going down. A simple street abduction and a murder. As to motive and who's doing it; I'd guess it could be anything; be it racial, satan/cult, music obsession, gang initiation, or maybe something new like fans of previous serial killers who just want to kill. The other symbols left near the smiley faces that we haven't seen; would tell us who the killers are.

On the note of "Trane" theories; there is a video game called "marc ecko's getting up" in which the main character, named Trane is a graffit artist. Just thought i would add that. The game is made for playstation2, i'm not sure what else.

MeoW
I'm not familiar with video games at all but see that game after a brief search. Thanks for the info.

Arizona, i'm not sure if there's a connection; likely not, just thought i'd bring it up as it's a game my nephew likes to play.

All of the victims had high GPA (grade point averages) and excelled in sports.
Is that just random, or is it possible the killers were stalking specific targets? I don't know; wondering if anyone had any ideas on this.

Meoww- good thoughts. We have discussed this upthread at length.
In synopsis: the general consensus (anyone weigh in here if you feel differently) that the GPA goes part and parcel with strong, athletic, well liked young men. It would be a stretch to assume these men were targeted academically as most were out of school, several were actually from different towns from where they went missing, etc.. In other words the link between looks, athletics, and academic achievement tends to be pretty static. That I am aware of, there is no direct evidence that these men were targeted based on GPA, just the commonality of it that goes to vic profile.

I was the one who posted the links to translave on a few boards. not ethann.

I'm guessing that GPA doesn't have anything at all to do with these crimes and I don't think these murders are really very cerebral. Maybe the killers are targeting kids who in their twisted minds look "preppy", but "preppy" doesn't mean smart and athletic; it really means a nice innocent kid who's got it together and is a good person. Cowards want the easiest possible target and also what comes into play inthe mind of most criminals is to get a victim who'd be unlikely to have a gun or knife; just in case something went wrong. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I think the killers are mostly concerned with how to kill without getting caught and that's why the profiles are so similiar. I think the key to committing these crimes without getting caught is to get the victim in the van from a dark and quiet side street; because the killers have to make sure that no cops or passerbys are around to see the victim enter the van. Whether its a quick physical abduction or a lure doesn't matter. What matters is that no one sees the victim enter the van. I hope that everyone of these dimented cowards are caught and receives the same treatment back

A couple of thoughts...

Have video cams in the downtown areas near these bars been reviewed to see if there are any suspicious vehicles, i.e. cargo vans, in the area on the night the victims disappeared?

Are the drugs that are suspected to have been used in these deaths relatively accessable on the streets and are they so expensive that it would point to a perpetrator of a certain financial status?

I have gotten really far behind on this. Incredibly, I am dealing with a possible meth lab right behind my house, in a very nice house sold a year ago, can't get LE interested!!! Yes, local LE can be really -- weird? -- slow? -- strange? --lazy? Yet I do know, they will come to help you, LE has my respect in general certainly. But SOMETIMES ya gotta wonder...

Does anyone know when the detectives will release more information? Do we have more info yet on the additional grafitti?

BTW I have gotten some "friend requests" but no matter what I do, the requests just stay there and it looks like I don't want to be friends, wah!!!

Just thinking here that because many of these drownings happened so long ago and were originally classified as accidental drownings..that many of the video's were never looked at. In many of the cases the Vic's weren't found for more then a week. Many of these places tape over the video within a week or so..so I would think very few have been available to look at.

As far as drugs go..in today's society, it would seem they are plentiful and easy to get and the prices don't seem to curtail the usage. So I would say, if a person had in mind the use of drugs to gain an ulterior motive..the price would not impede the use.

That may be it; they are going on just appearance alone. Yet as we know, not all kids that may look "preppy" may be nice or have a good GPA. That would be judging a book by the cover. They aren't targeting lanky small stature guys who may be lacking in appearance according to the "norms" or liking of common society that are athletic looking guys. So then they wouldn't be paying attention to GPA, just going on looks alone. Maybe it is a new generation of would have been school shooters getting revenge on the "jocks of yesteryear" who made fun of them in high school; someone united with each other.

Thanks for the local input on alcohol consumption. And welcome to all new members. I can't keep up with you all!

I can only add my experience from the West Coast and of course it's been decades since I've been in the H/S and College crowd. When I lived in the NW, Alcohol was a big problem because basically due to the incliment weather, there was nothing else to do but drink. Especially in small towns on the coast. And in So Cal., it was basically hard to do because of law enforcement and those traps they set up forcing everyone to drive through. Makes you wonder if it's also not a different in laws and enforcement from state to state. I have family and friends in the midwest and South and it amazes me that when they visit they think nothing about heading to my car with an open beer in their hand. They claim it's ok where they live and I have to explain to them it's not here. I had a friend that grew up in La. and swears their are drive through mixed drink shacks like we have drive through coffee shacks here. I still think he's full of chit and I will welcome anyone who can prove him wrong. lol.

i think the difference is the temperature of the water.

Although, we've been talking about there being a problem with young men falling into water drunk in middle america for years now. Glad its not just us.

I wonder what percentage of these men received scholarships? I have to disagree about the GPA not being a possible reason these men were targeted.

Yep; good point as we try to figure out the psychology to this. I was looking at a lot of angles and I looked at the satanist/devil/thrasher metal/punk rock angle and I agree with you there is a possibility that this isn't racial but instead a hate/jealousy issue. To add to your point, a lot of heavy metal/punk rock fans have a natural dislike for clean cut kids who have their act together; they see these kids as conformists; so these kids represent everything they hate. Oh and I'll say this about the angle you bring up; the danger of the internet is that it can bring together and unite some people who have the most gruesome interests. There are thousands of Myspace pages from men that have no pretty women on their page, but instead just satan symbols, skulls, knives, blood and gore.

quote]

So far still nothing new on the grafitti. That would tell us who the killers are; I assume. I talked to someone today who told me the detectives plan is to first go to Pennsylvania and look at the Tommy Booth case and then later this week to Albany, NY again for the Josh Szostak drowning case. I'm not sure if they are intersted or have checked out the Ithaca, NY case from a month ago. I'm told they might be on WGY later this week; but its not definite yet, but Bill Szostak; the father of Josh Szostak; will definitely be on tomorrow and I'm told he has some "fasinating news"; so we'll see what develops there

Good questions; for GHB; I'll write a bit about it because it might be an important part of the Jenkins case and others if they connect. A friend of mines son had a problem with GHB so I know a bit about it. Where I live, a capful of the liquid GHB costs about $10. A lot of kids and party people buy it and use it because they like the buzz they get; so there's a demand for it and it's cheap and easy to get. For first time users; who have no tolerance built up; just one capful of a strong dose or 2 capfuls of weaker stuff; might be all they need to get knocked out unconsciousness. It goes person to person but $20 or less is enough for a first time user to knock them out. 3 or 4 capfuls of strong stuff for some people can lead to coma or death. Drinking greatly accelerates it effect and another interesting thing to point out is that body weigth is a factor, so the lighter the person the less they need to get knocked out. GHB is colorless with no odor; so there's no way for someone to detect it in their drink; if its dumped in by some 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 or rapist

OT, keep after LE about the meth lab. My neighbor and I got rid of dope dealers next door. They all went to prison. It took several months, but it happened.
